Had a great stay minus the hot tubs were constantly filled with floaties (aka dead skin cells) and there were kids blowing their noses in it or wearing shoes, experienced great service from the bar staff of both Mantles and Morriseys as well as my servers Ayden, Andrew and Rosie. If the cleanliness standard of the pool facility was better or an adult only area was put in I would definitley go back again.

Dear chloehenwood2,

We appreciate your candid remarks from your stay. Thank you for the many compliments for our outlets team. We will share your remarks with Ayden, Andrew & Rosie.

In reference to your comments on the hot tubs: Our pool systems are carefully monitored for the correct balances of chemicals cleaning products through both automatic and manual monitoring. Each hot tub has it's own filtration system and are all commercial grade with skimmer process in place. We also clean the pool and hot tubs regularly. We openly embrace a family friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. Our pool and hot tubs are highly popular with all ages of our guests.During some of the busier periods, exceptionally high usage can add a certain amount of items as fellow guests come and go.

Additionally, being in a mountain environment, from time to time we may have some leaves or debris come through that our systems have yet to express. We apologize if the condition did not meet with your expectations.

We hope this experience has not placed us in your permanent disfavour and we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Sun Peaks Grand again soon.

Warm regards,

Tony MacDonald

We are travelling with 1 child and 2 teens. We booked 2 adjoining rooms for our sanity. Upon arrival, the bellman was at our car ready to help unload. This service level continued throughout our stay with any requests (I.e. extra dishes, sugar, etc.) One of the rooms had a kitchenette which we enjoyed making breakfasts, snacks, and the occasional dinners. As the kitchenette included a 2 burner stove and small refrigerater, we planned simple dinners (like pasta with jarred sauce) and used the small bar fridge in the 2nd room for overflow. As we has a 4 liter jug of milk, we had to remove 2 shelves in the fridge so that it would fit. There is no freezer component so be okay with any frozen items defrosting. The hotel also supplied a water kettle and toaster and microwave. Loved the steady hot water in the shower. Did not love hearing people talking in the hallway as they walked by. When we asked for a cot, they would place it in the room with 2 beds only, not in the king size bedroom-don't understand why. It would have been an extra $30/day. Parking was $15 per day. As in the other reviews, we enjoyed the heated pool and 3 hot tubs. The deepest part of the pool was 4.5 feet. The busiest time was from 3:30-6 pm with kids. It made it hard to swim and to relax as the kids were throwing a ball and others jumping in and making a splash. However, my child enjoyed having other kids his age to play with. My 2 teens preferred to sit in the hot tub after dinner when it was quieter. It was a very neat experience to be swimming with it snowing. Lots of towels supplied in the pool area. Another hint is that there are hooks indoor to hang up your room robe or towel. They are located in the same space as the sauna and where the pool starts indoor. I didn't discover this until after my robe had a thin layer of snow on it-lol. I signed up for free morning yoga in the hotel which is offered 2 per week. Room service was reasonably priced so we allowed one of the teens to do so as she was staying in the room for the morning. Even though it's the last week of March, there was lots of snow and activities for all ages. We very much enjoyed our stay here and created happy memories and would return. I hope this was helpful for you.

This is the 5th time our two families have stayed at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and it was another awesome stay! We love the ski in/ski out, the ski valet and the location. The kids love the pool and the adults love the hot tubs after a day of skiing! We have always stayed in standard rooms previously, but this year our two families shared a suite in the Residences and it was excellent. The suite was clean and spacious and having the kitchen was great - it allowed us to have more time relaxing and socializing after a great day of skiing!

Probably my 4th time here over the last 10 years and it seems nothing has changed. To a certain degree that's not an awful thing, however, the place, which wants to be the premier sun peaks resort, needs a refresh. Front desk service is simply ok, the jets in the hot tubs are not functioning and the high end furnishings, that are 15 years old are showing their age. Still a good place to stay, but could be so much better.

Dear 007dawg,

We are so very happy we have been your hotel of choice for your visits to Sun Peaks. Noting your remarks of a refresh.... you wish is our command! We have renovations scheduled this year. All of the guest rooms will be remodeled and updated to a rustic mountain chic. We are very excited to showcase our new guest rooms later this year!

The hotel is in an amazing location - just a short slide to the ski slopes - our ski rental shop was next door and it was ski in, and few steps to get back.
The hotel itself is lovely, but the 3 lifts are very old and slow, and caused quite a backlog / 10 min wait to get up / down at peak times
The restaurant in the hotel is fab, we ate breakfast there every day and one dinner, as well as quite a few apres ski drinks in the bar - the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Our room - right opposite the lift had a great view, but was noisy on occasions, - especially the last day of a conference when people partied up to 3 am , having very loud conversation outside our door
They also had a swimming pool and 3 hot tubs, the jets weren't working but it was great relaxing in the hot water, my only complaint is that they should have made one of teh hot tubs adult only , as we were there during spring break and the pool and all tubs were overrun with excited children
I would very happily stay again

Room Tip: Ask for a slope side view

Dear UkGailJ,

We appreciate your candid remarks and are pleased to hear of some of the happy experiences you had during your stay.

Spring break is a popular time to travel throughout the resort and we are pleased to welcome families along with all travellers to stay with us. One of the primary focuses of Sun Peaks is to create a family friendly atmosphere. As we are the only hotel in the resort with a pool, this creates a significant interest at our destination.

Also, while I can appreciate your thoughts regarding the upload / download times. These busier times only happens during some of the peak travel dates. By comparison, our wait times are significantly less than other resort destinations. We also have plans in the works to upgrade some of the primary chair lifts in the coming year. Some of the exciting upgrades can be found at the Sun Peaks Resort website.

We do look forward to welcoming you back to Sun Peaks Grand again soon.

Warm regards,

Tony MacDonald
