Mid day we ordered beer and shared the "fishermen's" platter (4 cod bites, with chicken wings, nachos and onion rings). Although the emphasis on 'fish' is a bit of a stretch the platter was tasty and filling. We ate outside on the patio - a total bonus in September. Our final day in Rocky Harbour we returned for another beverage and order of chicken wings. Our only complaint is the lack of lighting during the afternoon. We could barely see to read the menu. We wondered if it was to save on electricity or persuade the tourists to go elsewhere.

We went to both a Kitchen Party and the "Anchors Aweigh" show. Both were very entertaining and packed. For the "Anchors Aweigh" show you need to buy tickets ahead of time, and that does sell out so you need to buy early.

There are two strategies to getting a good seat at either of these shows:
- arrive about 90 minutes before show-time
or - arrive just before the show-time and ask the staff to find you a seat. This will work if you don't need a table. Be wary of seats at the back, as the Casino is there.

If you order food you may be in for a long wait, as the restaurant is upstairs, and everyone seems to order about an hour before the show. The food is excellent when it does arrive, though. Drinks arrive promptly. You can run a tab by passing the staff a credit card.

The good news was my wife's club sandwich, which she said was good, although the accompanying fries were disappointing. The bad news was my fish and chips --- 2 small pieces of breaded cod, greasy fries, and a tiny tub of stale coleslaw. The tartar sauce had an unpleasant flavour. On balance we are being generous in giving the meal an average rating.
