“Ice berg and whales in the Cove!”
Reviewed 24 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We arrived in early July and found to our amazement an iceberg sitting in the cove, wow what a great surprise! An even bigger surprise was watching the Minke Whales cruising in the cove. (Of course everyone will have different experiences and sites depending on the time of year) The Heritage Home is well signed and easy to get to from the small village of Trinity East (less than 10 minutes from the highway). We loved the homey feeling of the cottage, all of the amenities including laundry, tv and the "Random Passage" series (our daughters got into this in a big way) and with the actual site about 15 minutes away we couldn't resist! From the cozy home you are close to a day in New Bonaventure and Rugged Beauty Boat Tours, the Tea Room, Joe's Bar and the Random Passage Site. You can drive to Bonavista for the day to visit the lighthouse, Ryan Premises and Ye Matthew Legacy and hike to the Puffins. Plan to spend a day or 2 in the Picture Postcard Trinity East town. Our only complaint is only spending 3 nights, we wished we would have stayed for 5 nights (our family loved everything about the Bonavista Peninsula and all of the locations. For the beer lovers check out Port Rexton Brewery after a hike on the Sherwink Trail!

“Amazing stay, our favourite location”
Reviewed 18 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This place is beautiful. The interior is very well maintained and updated. There is a laundry and dryer, full kitchen and two beds. Beds were very comfortable and the view from the master was incredible . This is a must stay to feel like one of the locals.

Dustin the owner was amazing to deal with.

As someone else mentioned, locals do occasionally walk by to enjoy the amazing view of the beach and the blinds didn't work. But they were all very pleasant to talk too and weren't intruding.

Thank you for the kind words Andrew. We have new blinds ordered. With a busy season we had no time to get in and install them once we were made aware of the issue. This will be done this week however; with a 2 day gap in reservations. Again, thank you.

“Beautiful”

Beautiful location, very clean, everything you need available. Communication with the owner very quick and directions were clear. When we first arrived we were so excited by the beach, the view, the surrounding hills and the beautiful house. My only complaint, but for me it is a very important one, we didn't have any privacy. The local people would park their truck right in front of the living room window which looks out over the water and some would stare at us through the window while we were sitting on the couch. The privacy blinds in the window did not work and we felt very exposed, very disappointing. If this doesn't bother you, then it is an ideal place to stay.

Thank you very much for you feedback. It is very important to us. The recreational cod fishery in the area is open for 3 weeks from late July into August. I advise this to guest(s) when they book because some may embrace the experience and some may find lack of privacy (I apologize if I didn't inform you of this). I have yet to have any complaint in the 7 years of operation and I'm sorry to hear this. While I can't control the vehicle traffic on the beach I will ensure the blinds are in working order in the living room. Please visit us again some time in the off season of the recreational cod fishery. Again, thanks for you feedback.
