This beautiful property shouldn't be missed. The CAA rate of $153 + taxes is comparable to other chain hotels, but the thrill of driving up to this century old property is uncomparable. I was in the area for a sisters weekend, and my sister and I shared a 2 queen bed room on the 2nd floor...2nd floor only because the spa seems to be on the lower floor as the property slopes away into a valley in the rear. The 2nd floor is the main lobby floor, and the buffet breakfast restaurant floor (breakfast included in the room rate). I hope to return in the spring when the lovely winter grounds must be absolutely spendid! Room 210 was in a noisy evening hallway, but was perfectly quiet overnight. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and there were complimentary robes in the room. The room is fashioned after many modern hotels, and the bathroom was very large with a glassed in shower. Spotless...very nice!

Room Tip: Room 210 faced the road and was very good, but I hope to try a rear facing room next time which would overlook the valley.

My niece and I made plans to meet for dinner and an overnight hotel stay. We decided on The Elmhurst Inn and Spa. I wanted to make the occasion extra special, so I booked The Lord Connaught Suite. Had always wanted to try it, as it has a lovely, secluded patio area. It’s definitely on the pricey side in comparison to other rooms at the inn.
There was a lovely king bed and massive marble bathroom with large jacuzzi tub and separate shower, but what we liked most about it were the huge windows and garden doors out to the patio. The room was filled with light! It didn’t feel like a hotel room, but rather our own little oasis, as it’s a popular inn for conferences and there were many other guests. The room is located on the lower floor...we experienced total peace and quiet and had a very restful night. As I mentioned, the room is not inexpensive, but we felt the amenities worth the price.
We also dined at the hotel and both had marvellous meals from an excellent menu. Service was very good, and as we hadn’t seen each other for awhile and had lots to talk about, we took our time enjoying our meal and never felt pressured to leave. My niece said that her beef tenderloin was THE most tender cut of beef she had ever had.
The Elmhurst Inn is a lovely place to stay, for business or pleasure and you can always count on a delicious meal, but staying in The Lord Connaught Suite was absolutely the icing on the cake. Many thanks also to the wonderful staff, who contributed a great deal to our perfect “Girl’s Getaway.”

The spa is wonderful and busy. The service was exceptional and the ladies that work there are very kind. The facial was first rate as was the manicure. The hotel itself is charming and the room was lovely. Great stay overall.

My husband and I visited to use a Stay and Dine Package we received for Christmas and had a great weekend away. It was very quiet and didn’t find it over crowded at all. All of the staff were great and very friendly, especially the spa.

Our Chefs choice dinner was excellent and the dining room was lovely. I had a manicure and a massage at the spa and both were fantastic. Staff were very friendly and aesthetician and therapist were great to deal with and did an awesome job. It was a bit cramped and awkwardly laid out, it seemed like you were always in someone’s way and it was awkward that the sauna and steam room were right in the check in area, definitely deterred me from using it.

A lot of the building could use some general maintenance and updating, not quite what I expected for the price point. They definitely seem to have some roofing issues as there was very noticeable peeling paint and water damage along the ceiling in our room and the hallway. It didn’t affect our stay but hope that they spend some time and money keeping it up.

All around good visit, would definitely recommend the spa and dining room but wouldn’t stay again unless it was a better deal.

My fiance and i went for valentines day and got the romance package. We live a half hour away, and we had no idea that in that area there is a cheese belt. Pretty neat if you like cheese. The room was very nice and clean. We really enjoyed our time at the Elm Hurst Inn.
