The man at the front desk was very friendly, but besides that, there wasn't much that was great about this motel. I was a little scared at first, but was assured from people around the area that it's a safe place and town to stay. The motel is extremely, extremely outdated. The towels are very old and the pillows are very, very flat. Breakfast was advertised at the time of my booking this motel, but there wasn't any. This is budget friendly for sure, but that's probably the only plus regarding this motel.

Kind staff at check in didn't make up for the smell in the hallway and room. Bed very hard, and despite being told at reservation time we would have a room at the back, we were put into a room on Clothier St. which we found to be extremely noisy. Very little perceived value at the rate of $95.

Stayed there on Mon Nov 14th just for one night as my daughter had knee surgery in the morning. We are from Renfrew which is over an hour drive. The owners allowed me to drop my daughter off for her surgery and come back to the room to wait for her. This was extremely appreciated! Outdated rooms but very clean. Would recommend this place t stay. Reasonable prices too

This is not a 5 star spot but it is clean, well-located, affordable with friendly and accommodating staff. Complimentary breakfast to boot. Can't go wrong. I should also mention that there is free and plentiful parking.

We stayed at the Clothier Inn Motel for one night en route to visit family. The first thing we noticed upon entering the office/lobby was a dank basement-like smell. We received the keys to our room, which was the room for handicapped guests (not that we needed it, but it was apparently the only room available). We accessed the hallway through a separate door, and thankfully, the dank odor was not present there.

Upon reaching our room, which was at the very end of the hallway, we found it took an inordinate amount of shoulder shoving to push the door open. It might have been easy for the average linebacker, but I don't see how a handicapped guest could ever have opened that door. Besides the fact that nobody could possibly sneak into that room because of the noise it would make, the door was not very secure. It was nearly impossible to lock from the outside, and I felt sorry for the other guests having to listen to us slam the door countless times in an attempt to lock it when going out. We actually had to give up once. Plus, the doorknob cannot be locked from the inside . . . the only lock available was a swing bar latch, which is usually only used as an accessory lock. Once inside, we found the second door, which opened out to the sidewalk on the street. That one operated normally.

So the room was not fancy - and we didn't expect fancy, so that was fine - but it was clean and functional, so no complaints in that department. The A/C did the job, although a bit noisy. We were able to get a good night's sleep. My only complaint inside the room (and for me it's kind of a big one) is that the signal for the free wi-fi offered was so weak that it was virtually unusable not only for streaming, but even for basic web browsing. Maybe it was because we were at the end of the building, as other people have reported better luck with the wi-fi.

The best thing I can say about this motel is that the owners and staff were all very friendly and courteous. They made recommendations for places to eat, including which places might offer a discount if you show your room key. So if all you need is a room to sleep in at a reasonable price, this might be your place.
