“Fantastic views and hiking trails”

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park
Attraction details

1.5 hours drive from Toronto, easy to access and have many great trails to hike. As the name suggests, the park has a number of cliff faces along the Niagara Escarpment itself. Along the Cliff Top Trail is a sturdy set of stairs which descend about 30 metres (98 ft) down the rock face to a wooden path that runs between the cliff face and a small outlier, providing excellent views of the rock, ferns, and cedars.

went there with kids (9 & 7) for family hiking for the first time. we had a great afternoon.
Hiking was enjoyable and easy enough for kids. Beautiful scenery and fresh air, only a couple of hours from Toronto. It was nice weather sunday afternoon, so there're bit too many people. but still, we had great family time enjoying the nature.

Good trails, fun walkway, beautiful views, easy access to the lower level and safe for the children to explore around the pond.

We parked in the car park, paid for a all day pass, $14 you can pay for 2 or 4 hours as well. Then set off with a map we had picked up at Hockley Valley. There were lots of families, some with babies and toddlers, dog walkers, couples, older parents etc. We chose a trail that passed some ponds and went up and down the cliffs. You have to be able bodied to go up and down the stairs and steep, muddy, mossy, slick paths. But we took our time, beautiful scenery, exciting going into the cliffs. We had a picnic by a pond, watching 6 turtles sunning themselves on some rocks. Many butterflies and wild flowers. We left when we heard the thunder. Making a short stop at the toilets by the car park.

Lovely walk through the forest and overlooking cliffs in the park. Very popular in the fall, but a walk here is always spectacular. After the walk stop at the Mono Cliffs Inn. Food is amazing and atmosphere better.
