I booked this as an inexpensive one night stop over on a business trip. My local contact told me to avoid the place, but I decided to try it. It doesn’t look like much from the road, the office is shabby, and the exterior of the place has seen better days, but I was pleasantly surprised when we entered. Although old and a bit worn, the place was very neat and clean, with a shiny floor instead of the nasty carpets you get in some of these places. I’m always cautious of bedbugs, so I stripped the beds - all good, and lots of clean bedding. The bathroom was good, and there was a modern “window shaker” a/c that was as quiet as they get and worked well, a microwave, hair drier, coffee maker, flat screen TV, etc. It was a quiet night and I slept well. My only complaint were the cheap window blinds that allowed the early morning sun to wake me up - they need a decent blackout blind. At 5:45 am, it was so bright I may as well have had all the lights on. Oh, and they had fast, free WiFi.

Overall, it was good, and I left happy.

Room tip: I was in room 11 with two twin beds

After a VERY long day of driving and another one ahead of us, we were looking for a clean, quiet, inexpensive place to sleep. We had even packed the camping gear in the event we had to pitch the tent. We were very happy to come across this motel. From the friendly and kind front desk woman, to the great food at the restaurant next door we were very pleased. The room was bigger than we expected and clean and not fancy but way better than a tent ;-) but seriously a good clean bed and a hot shower was just what we needed. We had what was described on the site as 'independent chalet' it was like a mini cottage. Perfect for the 3 of us and our dog and her crate. We liked it so much we chose to stay there again on our way back home. Not fancy, not deluxe... but sure had a great sleep and were refreshed for another day of driving.

Room tip: go for the fridges and microwave rooms, spacious

A colleague and I stayed at the Belair Motel on Saturday May 1. We were in town for a convention that started in the early afternoon and lasted until late in the evening. We made our booking through Trip Advisor (The Superior suite - 2 double beds and a hide-a-bed chesterfield), and made a special request that we be able to check in early to make the convention. The owners accommodated us without any issues.

On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant lady at reception. The room was very clean and organized. The decor was a little dated, but it was comfortable and spacious, amazing value for money. The location is great; we had lunch a few doors down before the convention began, and had breakfast next door on Sunday morning (L'Etoile Resteraunt - excellent breakfast buffet on Sunday morning)

Our sleep was quiet, comfortable, and uneventful. Before breakfast we left the room key in the drop box at reception (an 'open' sign was displayed, but we wanted to get going). As we walked over to breakfast the reception opened the door and waved goodbye! Very friendly!

I would certainly recommend this spot for those looking for a comfortable economy stay

Room tip: For an extra $5, the Superior room had extra room and a kitchenette
