This hotel is lovely.
The metal pods that dot the mountain landscape lend a unique design aesthetic, but they aren’t actually super cozy inside. They are simple - for example no closet, drawers, or cabinets to put your stuff away. The beds were very comfortable. The temperature controls and blinds worked perfectly in our room and sunlight in the early morning wasn’t a problem. The chairs all around the balconies and in our room were very chic, just not very comfy to sit in for longer than a few moments. The rain shower was incredible. I think due to the septic system there was a slight sewage smell at first that the hotel was luckily able to remedy quickly.
I would highly recommend breakfast at Toba. They use very fresh ingredients and the service was top notch. They also provide great margaritas while sitting at the pool. Hanging out poolside is a great activity, but if you love shade be prepared as there are no umbrellas. It’s a beautiful view and later in the day they play upbeat music.
Another activity on the property is hiking. I followed the road way back into the hills and there is a lot of natural beauty to check out.
The wine tasting building is no longer open. There is a very bumpy dirt road to access everything from the paved highway. Definitely bring sneakers as you travel everywhere on dirt paths.
