Very good food, ambiance, cocktails.
Not 5 due to being a bit too pricey.

Repeat visit. Everything was on point. Dinner was delicious. Wine was excellent. Service was top notch. Atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommend!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Guadalupe Valley. The food is wonderful and the selection is great. We traveled with two vegetarians and they always have a great selection for them. The wine list is very comprehensive specializing in wines from the Valle. Go around sunset. They have a wonderful view and the Valle just seems to glow from this vantage point. Enjoy!
My husband and I went to dinner on a Saturday night. Our hotel made the recommendation and the reservation for this place and we were glad that we went. It was lively with a pretty busy dining room, but the vibe was very chill and relaxed. The staff was kind and courteous. Not everyone spoke English (not that that should be expected of course!), but all of the servers were quick at pulling the English speaking staff over whenever we had a question/concern that we couldn’t articulate using what is left of my high school Spanish vocab.
For dinner we shared the grilled vegetable chopped salad to start and it was delicious. My husband is more of a carnivore than I am and even he really enjoyed the salad. Lol!! It had a wide mixture of perfectly charred and roasted vegetables (broccoli, squash, peppers, cauliflower, etc.) with a tasty vinaigrette. I would definitely recommend ordering it. For our mains, my husband had the octopus and I had the roasted suckling pig (lechon asado). The octopus was such a generous serving— it probably could have fed both of us! The real standout was the lechon. It was perfectly seasoned and had a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture that made you want to eat more. I would definitely recommend getting the lechon. (Please see my photo of it’s glory!) Again, very generous with the portions as well. We couldn’t finish everything but it was so tasty!
La Esperanza was a tasty and nice meal! I would definitely want to come back if I was back in the area.
We arrived at The Esperanza on the recommendation of event planner at our intended restaurant Almazara Olivas, which is now closed. So we had no expectation of what as to what we find. Feeling lucky the restaurant was nearby because by now 3:00, we were hungry. What a delightful surprise was in store for us. The venue is beautiful outdoor setting over looking vineyards. Shown to our table where cool breezes welcomed us.
The service was attentive and informative. But the food was Wonderful, yummy!!!.
My spouse had the house mixed salad and pinko/ shrimp with wonderful pepper sauce over vegetables. She raved about her meal. I started with portobello mushroom appetizer and the “fish of the day”, red snapper perfectly cooked moist flaky with a homemade tapenade. The presentation of the food was beautiful.
The only suggestion I would offer is the dessert menu seemed uninteresting. We had the chocolate layer cake, okay.
I highly recommend this La Esperanza you will be delighted by the experience.
