We hiked a beautiful trail and ended up close to this restaurant. We weren't ready for dinner so we had a cheese plate and mezcal. What a treat!!! We thouroughly enjoyed the experience. We plan to go back for dinner some day.

Yesterday (sept/15) we stayed in El Porton del Cielo and we celebrated MExico´s famous and acclaimed and fun *El grito* or Independece day!
This is the first time at this Hotel, and trust me, it wont be the last...
This place is gorgeous..
Its on a hill, so the view is impecable, with tons of vegetation, and the most and main star of this litte town, its lake and Janitzio..
You can tell that Flor and PAto (the owners), and all its staff, love this place.
The attention is great, you literally feel like you´re at home..
Its not hard to fall in love with this place.

Flor and PAto are excellent hosts.
Relating to people that live at the coast, and sometimes they say that they dont go to the beach as much because they are used to it; we asked Flor if she ever gets tired of this place, and she told us that she loves to take photos of the view, and when she sees them she realizes that most of them look a like, so its because every moment there is worth taking a photo to capture this place to simply remember.

Changing the subject, the common areas and the rooms are lovely.. Every detail..Very mexican, and so cozy.... (I would decorate my home like that).
You have a terrace, a game room (with a pool table, futbolito and goard games), a spa :), a restaurant...
My suite (el gorrion, the sparrow), was soooooo pretty, spacious and veryyy comfy...
Slept incredibly well. and loved the terrace with the chairs and the umbrella to just chill and get infected with the peaceful and calm state of this beautiful town.

REally loved this place...Thinking of going back on November for ¨Dia de Muertos

Perched on ahillside this hotel is a half hour walk from the town center but it has a view to die for over the lake. My room was Golondria (Swallow) and was a 'suite' but it was very small, the bathromm was tiny and the suite was a balcony a metre wide. I felt I was conned. Restaurant served excellent breakfast. Probably better choices in the town.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the lake but get one as high as possible

This is a great place to spent a couple of days to relax or to escape to have a romantic weekend. The view of Janitzio lake is great. The hotel decor has great a great Mexican touch and you can have all the privacy you need.

5 minutes away is Patzcuaro downtown where you can have local taste of food such as enchiladas and a must is to taste the local ice-cream at the main square

you can walk and have a coffee or buy a handcraft

Room Tip: All rooms have private terrace

This is a beautiful small hotel, exquisitely decorated with a stunning view of Lake Patzcuaro. It is outside of the city a bit off the beaten track and a wonderful place to relax between visits to the villages around the lake. It is attended by the owners who personally oversee all details. The region is fascinating and the proprietors will assist you in planning your days.
