My wife, two young children and I had the pleasure of staying at the Casa Hamaca Guesthouse the last week in December. We truly had a wonderful experience because of the great (down-to-earth) accommodations and Denis' wealth of knowledge and ability to ensure we enjoyed ourselves in and outside Casa Hamaca. Denis spent quality time with each of us, getting to know us. My son keeps asking how Denis is doing and when we will see him next. While at Casa Hamaca we had the great experience of helping the local Mayan people with a food/supply donation that Denis put together for us (a despensa). We were able to interact with a local Mayan family and be a part of making a small difference for them. It was quite enriching and we would recommend spending the small amount of time and small cost to do it! Also, each morning Denis’ team created a wonderful traditional breakfast for all of us (including kid friendly food). We highly recommend Casa Hamaca and we will be back next time we come to the Yucatan!

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Hamaca. The rooms were very large, spotless, and thoughtfully decorated. Very nice garden and grounds, tucked into a great location in an interesting part of Valladolid, a fun walk to the main square. Super breakfasts, and very personal and warm attention from Denis and the staff. I've traveled and lived all over Latin America and this was one of the more memorable places I've stayed. Not your standard-issue hotel---much more fun and welcoming. My young children traveling with me and my wife really enjoyed the hammock in the room. We would definitely go back. Highly recommended!

Casa Hamaca is a little gem in the middle of Valladolid. It's owner, Denis, made this guesthouse a perfect retreat with so much charm. Denis is very welcoming and friendly. He will make sure you stay is amazing and that you have everything you need. I would really recommend this place for its location as it is at easy walking distance from the city centre and also for its relaxing ambiance.

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Hamaca for four days when we visited Valladolid in November.
Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was huge, and very comfortable. The shower room was lovely, again spacious, clean and well stocked with toiletries.
Denis, the owner, is a wonderful host. He obviously enjoys meeting and chatting with his guests, and does his best to ensure that everyone has a fantastic stay. Every other staff member we met was also friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was delicious, fresh and tasty.
The pool was clean and well maintained, with a lovely seating,( and hammock) area where we enjoyed a cold beer after a hard days sight seeing.
Casa Hamaca is ideally situated for a day trip to Chichen Itza, which is only a 45 minute collectivo ride away.
We also hired bicycles in the town and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas too. The local cenotes are worth a visit, we especially liked the Cenote Haceienda (San Lorenzo).
Valladolid itself is a wonderful place to visit. It has a lovely square in the centre of the town, where we enjoyed strolling through in the evenings, people watching and eating our ice-creams.
There are plenty of really good places to eat in the town.
We would definitely recommend staying at this guest house.

Room Tip: All rooms looked fantastic.

From the moment you walk down the tree lined path from the parking lot to the inviting house, you know you are in for a treat. Denis is a consummate host - warm, convivial, full of local wisdom. Denis and his staff strike a great balance between polished professionalism and down home hospitality. He also seems to know everyone in this lovely town, from the small community of ex-pats to the locals, as well as a vast knowledge of the myriad of local highlights, from the cenotes to the ruin sites to the local mercado. Our only regret was that we didn't plan a longer stay - we'll be back!
