My husband and I were recently in Valladolid, just the weekend and we were very pleasantly surprised with Casa Marlene. It is a hidden gem, you would never know from the outside that such a charming, peaceful and welcoming little place was inside. We were very warmly greeted and although we arrived too early for our room to be ready, we left our car in a parking lot adjacent and connected to the guesthouse.
Breakfast was fantastic, fresh fruit and a variety of local dishes, homemade cookies and the BEST mango juice ever: in fact they have 2 or 3 huge mango trees in their beautiful garden...the pool and Jacuzzi a wonderful end to a hot and busy tourist day. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: all seem just as nice

We spent two nights at this Casa and it’s in a great location in Valladolid just off the main square, with good restaurants and shops surrounding it.
The rooms are lovely and clean with giant beds and some rooms have a jacuzzi in them also, there is a small outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi and the setting around them is just great with mango trees.
All the staff where very polite and helpful and I would highly recommend this Casa if your looking for a place to stay in Valladolid

From the moment we opened the door to the doorman’s friendly words, I knew this was the perfect little oasis in the middle of town. Jesus was our attendant for the 24 hours we were there. He offered us complimentary beers which we shared in the shaded courtyard by the little pool, and served us a 3 course breakfast the next morning. We had a simple 4 person room with 2 comfy queen beds,
AC, and wifi and a shower. We wandered around the plaza in the evening, ate at Atrio de Mayab for supper, and swam at Oxman Cenote. I feel that $100 US might be expensive for Valladolid but we were extremely satisfied with our choice.

What an absolutely darling charming place! Hubby and I recently returned from
Valladolid and we actually stayed at their sister hotel 4 doors down (Casa Tia Micha) for three nights, however our friends we were travelling with stayed at Casa Marlene.

We basically spent every evening at Casa Marlene hanging out around the pool and we chose to have every breakfast there. You can choose to have breakfast at either place. The staff will ask you the day before where you would like to have your breakfast.

This charming small boutique hotel is just wonderful. The hundred year old tile just took my breath away! Absolutely took it away. This property was once a family home, and has the original tile throughout. Just breathtaking. Don't forget to peek into the kitchen the tile in there is my favorite.

We loved Valladolid so much we are coming back n 7 months, and this time will be staying at Casa Marlene. It was love at first sight!

This is our third stay at Casa Marlene. The reason this is our third stay is because this is the finest hotel I have visited in my 30 years of traveling around the world. We are already figuring out how to get back there soon.
When you stay at the Casa you not only have a beautiful room and a fantastic multi course Mexican breakfast, but you stay in a mind blowing Mexican colonial house run by the most amazing people.
This is a family run hotel and they make you feel like you are one of the family!
Maria Teresa Sosa the very beautiful owner and her wonderful husband are there making sure your stay is prefect in every way.
Julio Ayora, Jesus, Shari and ALL the staff are amazing.
There are many pics on line that show you the beauty of the Casa but when you are there, you will see and feel the soul of this beautiful hotel in the the most beautiful city in Mexico...Valladoild!
When you see the garden and pool area your jaw will drop.
This is home to us.
