Just perfect week away - we stayed in two rooms (joined together by a corridor) as we have 2 young children. Everything was simply great - in terms of cleanliness of the rooms, staff helpfulness, food (breakfast as well as the meals down the quiet road at the Woolpack). Thank you very much to Lesley, John and Leanne for making us feel so relaxed and welcome during our holiday.

We rented the whole house out for 3 nights for our annual work group trip (23 people) and we had such a great experience! The house is situated in an idyllic spot, right next to a stream, and has a big open backyard. Everyone loved playing sports in the backyard and exploring around the property. The house was big and comfortable, with lots of space for both large and small group activities. The house was also very well equipped- we self-catered, and the staff were absolutely lovely- brought over cooking equipment that were not available in the house. They are always just a phone call away, and we felt we were very well looked after.
Basically, we highly recommend this house to anyone, even if you don't want to hire out the entire house. There is a pub and adventure company down the road, lots of nice hikes nearby (and a steam train). I really hope to be back again!

Couldn't praise this place enough we stayed here for a 70th Birthday celebration last weekend! We hired the whole house and also booked out the Woolpack Inn their sister property for our extra guests as well as using some other local B n Bs. The army truck was a fun touch and the driver happily transported our guests up and down the pass over the 2 days without complaint! All 46 attendees had an excellent time commenting on the venue, pretty gardens and the fabulous food provided by the Woolpack Inn! From start to finish the staff were superb helping us with all aspects of this special occasion and couldn't thank them enough! The house is huge all rooms with ensuites, big comfy beds, clean, great cinema room, superb entertaining kitchen with all mod cons and lots of spaces for people to hang out. The house is located in a stunning setting, very pretty place and great to take this all in on the stream train to Ravenglass literally right outside the door! What an absolutely fantastic weekend and would highly recommend this house to anyone! If you are looking for a relaxed stay in the Lakes in a gorgeous area this is the place for you !!!

Myself and a a group of friends had a wonderful 3 night stay here. We were made more than welcome from our friendly and helpful host Leanne. A beautiful property set in idyllic surroundings.
The rooms were clean and fresh and the beds were made every day without fail.
If you want a relaxed and laid back atmosphere then this is the place to stay.
Oh and I forgot to mention the hearty full breakfast which was expertly cooked and served up by Leanne and here assistant.
See you again in the not to distant future.

Thanks again Nigel Birch

Stayed here with a small group of drinkers/fell walkers last weekend to coincide with the beer festival. The Ratty Halt stop right outside meant we were in Ravenglass 25 mins later without breaking sweat.
On arrival Leanne made us very welcome with her friendly manner and the big fry up the follwing morning was top notch after a few too many in the Woolpack. The beds are very comfortable ,the ensuite adequate with the views fantastic over the Esk and beyond. A great location with very helpful staff and I would highly recommend this place.
