“very nice, comfortable and cosy cottage,”
Reviewed 8 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Strutt cottage is lovely, It is very cosy and warm, has everything you need to make your stay pleasant, excellent wi-fi signal, lots of lovely extra touches such as pillow sprays, nice hand soap etc, plenty of books to read and info on the local area, could not ask for more in a holiday let. just a few minutes walk into Belper centre which is a very nice place to visit. we also hired Frith cottage which is owned by the same people who own Strutt cottage, this is right next door and is also very good, ideal if you are away with friends but need your own space, both are excellent value for money too! its not often that we would return to the same place for a break but Strutt cottage is the exception to this, We cannot wait to one day revisit!

“A lovely getaway in cosy cottage”
Reviewed 10 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

The cottage was simple, cosy, full of character and had everything you needed. It was great to have a glass of wine in the garden and gaze back at the cottage and had lovely views to the green hills.
Belper is a great place to have a mooch around and perfect if you like history. You really get a sense of what life would have been like in the industrial north in the 1800s. Amazing to see the North Mill Museum and the rows of cottages for the cotton mill workers created by Jedediah Strutt and sons. Lots of other great places to visit in the Derwent Valley and also good for ramblers. I would definitely visit again.

“Small, comfy and worth the money”
Reviewed 5 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This little cottage offers all the basics one needs to a very reasonable price. The cottage is not very fancy, but quite comfy and we felt at home quite soon. As we had been traveling to this area of England before we didn't need the information material offered about the Peak District and the Derwent Valley, but still found it quite nice and useful as it included walking guides, books, timetables for buses and trains and lots, lots more. The landlord and his wife made us feel very much at home and were very helpful, when we had questions or needed any help.
But of course there were also things which could have been better: The kitchen offers basic equipment, but not much more. A few plates and cups more would be great. But apart from that the cottage is a really good place to stay and we had a very pleasant and relaxing time.
