Afternoon Tea
Visited yesterday on a Groupon voucher my friend had the the normal afternoon tea while I had the gluten free. Normally gluten free options you get a standard shop brought bread and aproverbial uninspiring macaroon. So I was delighted to find that the sandwich's were made with delicious homemade bread and the cakes were to die for. Beautiful carrot cake, lemon cake and brownie and still warm scone. My friend was equally delighted with her sandwich's and cakes. The tea selection was such a lovely touch and we tried the Mayan chocolate tea delicious.
The staff are friendly and attentive without being over bearing and the dining room had the exact ambience you wanted when taking afternoon tea. Overall a lovely experience - highly recommended especially if you have any dietary requirements

my son booked this trip as our xmas present. we thought it was the only fools and horses experience night but that was at the donnington manor in kent, however we had a great night at this hotel. we went to the nearby donnington car museum at donnington racetrack in the afternoon which was really interesting. we went back to the hotel and had a few drinks in the bar. we had booked a meal for the evening which was absolutely lovely the food was very tasty and reasonably priced.the staff were very friendly and efficient, the bedroom was spacious and clean. all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone

Room Tip: our room was on second floor and was quiet and comfy, dont know about other rooms

Took 2 friends for a treat of afternoon tea. Absolutely lovely. The staff were extremely nice, efficient and attentive but not ‘in your face’. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the cakes were delicious. The choice of tea was wonderous, I would love to know who supplies them. The ambience in the room was conducive to the old ideas of serving afternoon tea, back in the day. I can highly recommend you try them I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed a superb 3 course Sunday dinner. Fabulous choice on each course. All very fresh food, Roast Pork with lots of crackling was a treat. Vegetables plenty of choices & again piping hot. Apple & Rhubarb crumble & custard to round off.
Only criticism could of done with more waiting on staff.
Would go again & certainly recommend to anyone to go.
