Easter Sunday and I have wanted to do the Man Tor to Lose Hill walk for a while. We have a 3 year old and a 9 year old and they absolutely loved it. The 3 year old struggled once at the top of Man Tor as she was cold and it was windy but we persuaded her to try further along the ridge and from then there was no stopping her. She loved the "rock climbing" up Back Tor and even decided that the peaks looked like Dragon footprints! We took a picnic and took our time. We encountered nearly all weathers - wind, snow and sun being the most common. Be prepared and take your time to enjoy the views. It is definitely worth it!

My children took me walking on Mother’s Day. Such a beautiful walk. Imagine my horror when I realised much of the beautiful countryside I could see ,Dark Peak, is also the scene of licensed Hunting ,thanks to the National Trust!
Children, hang gliders, fell runners, dog walkers doing something positive. What if any of them visiting the area had been unfortunate enough to encounter the local hunt licensed this season? Doesn’t bear thinking about. National Trust what are you thinking of in this day and age? We want preservation and beauty, not ugliness and outdated barbarity.

What an amazing walk. The views are just the best. Easy walking so take the kids and granny. We stayed in Castleton and enjoyed the village facilities. Excellent beer in all hostilities. Promised ourselves we would be back again soon
