“Excellent Venue”
Reviewed 3 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

I stayed at Sladen Lodge in the last week of May 2013 with a large group of friends. Thoroughly impressed with the venue, very well equipped and great for a large group. The owners were really helpful. I would definitely recommend to others.

“Excellent well equipped property in great location.”
Reviewed 4 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

The property is on the edge of the village of Hathersage which is only a few minutes walk to the centre. There are plenty of walks available from the house, with Stanage Edge being easily accessible from the village. Several restaurants in the village ( we used The Scotsman's Pack). House is very well equipped and although the bedrooms vary in size they are all well presented. There is a large lounge where everybody can socialise as well as a smaller seating area for those who want to get away from the crowd. If the weather is kind there is a large Patio area with table & chairs. We use Big Houses every year and this is one of the better ones.

“well equipped, spacious lodge in beautiful countryside”
Reviewed 3 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

The lodge is located in a lovely village, wthin easy access to shops, pubs and the train station. It is a convenient location for meeting up when people are coming from different directions. We were able to reach the lodge from Sheffield in snowy conditions by road but others in our party arrived by train, which was very reliable. The surrounding countryside is lovely and we did manage a couple of walks in the snow. It is very well equipped and comfortable for a large group with plenty of space.

“Fantastic......”
Reviewed 21 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed at Sladen Lodge for a lads weekend, there were 12 of us staying at the lodge. We found that we had plenty of space for all of us to spread ourselves out. The accommodation was just what we wanted, comfortable, well equipped and ideally sighted for the village pubs, shops and the surrounding countryside.
I would recommend the Scotsman pub for an evening meal, the steak and ale pie was superb...... If its a pub for drinks that you are after then try Little Johns, pool table and sky sports available.

Liked best: The dining area and the front room both excellent spaces to gather and socialise.
Liked least: The only complaint from the group was that the rooms were too hot at night, but that was sorted by opening the windows.

“Home from Home!”
Reviewed 4 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Sladen Lodge is warm and comfortable! Everything you could possibly need(and a few things you couldnt possibly have thought of) is there. The views all round are simply stunning. We were a party of 14 adults and 3 children all family members and everyone felt comfortable there immediately. It is stylish but not so super shiny that you are scared to move or are worried about the children!
The trainsrun close by and are rather loud when they hoot but the children thought this was wonderful and the adults had a great train spotting time! (they stopped hooting at night time). It is well situated for all the Peak and accommodates that many people with ease. We all loved it!
