We were quite surprised at the beauty of the area. The water is crystal clear and you can see the sandy bottom with the odd tortoise or eel cruising past. There are BBQ's and shelters there for the family outing or just go for a walk along the path to the Gorge, enjoying the rainforest along the way. The water looked very inviting but a bit cold judging by the many people sitting on the banks or rocks trying to get warm in the sun. National Parks have done a lovely job with the facilities there as well, providing stairs and platforms for the swimmers.
To get there you take the turnoff into Babinda from the Bruce Highway and just keep going to the end of the road. It's about a 15-20 minute drive if that.

We loved visiting the boulders.
It is a lovely walk through the tropical rainforest - typical of other natural waterholes and walking tracks in nth queensland.
It's definitely a must see.
We didn't swim but after swimming in other natural pools (like the crystal cascades) i know it would have been an amazing swim. The water here is so clear and it would have been pretty chilly.
There are picnic tables and toilets - so everything you need.
We visited about 7 years ago and there was a good view of 'the devils pool' a whirlpool created by the rocks and water flow along the track. this time on our visit the view was obscured by tree growth. There are plenty of signs advising not to swim near the devils pools - so only swim in the areas marked for swimming.
The large boulders are pretty amazing natural sight to see. I highly recommend it!

Visited this lovely swimming creek with the family in January and when we pulled up a car in front of us suggested we hve some Insect Repellent because of teh March and Black Flies. They were mailnly hanging around teh picnic area. Near teh Water we disn't experience any. It is a Gentle flowing Creek river with a couple of tiny rapids in the swimming hole.

Once again chilly tpo get in but great once you are in. There is a lot of shallow spots for parents to paddle with teh kids and deep spots for swimmers to have a refreshing dip and jump off rocks into teh water. Also chech first befpore you jump.

Lots of Flat pebbles in teh water for little boys to skip over the water to if they get bored. Lots of Grass and a few picnic tables and toilets . .

The walk along to the Boulders is very pretty and the actual Boulders at the end of the path are very impressive to.

It is definetley worth the detour to visit.them.
