Barkcamp is a nice park with a decent lake. Large beach area and nice picnic area. Great parking and great campground. The campground doesn't have a pool. There is a shower house, but the toilets do not use running water so the privacy and smell aren't pleasant.

We asked for and got a nice quiet site (#125 up on a hill a bit away from the parking area). We had few neighbors. The park was not full for a Saturday night in August. The sites all appeared spacious. This was a one night only stop for us but there appeared to be a lot of amenities and we have put this place on our must return list! Nice clean showers.

My wife and I have taken our kids camping here the last two years. We have three young kids and this is an awesome park for families.
We have stayed at the same campsite both times. The park is very clean and quiet. The only negative thing is the restrooms, but you are camping so it is not that big of a deal. You might have to take a little stroll to get to them depending on were your site is.
The first year staying the coyotes were loud and close all night, but this past time the nights were quiet.
The shower house is nice and the store is well stocked with firewood, starters and little items to make camping easier.
The kids like swimming in the lake and playing on the beach and they even have mini golf and they watched Rango on an outside projection screen.
We will camp here again, great place for families.

Room Tip: Find a site near the restrooms.

I just love Barkcamp State Park. Just a couple miles off Interstate 70. Charming, friendly staff and immaculate shower house. It was quiet at night with crickets and cicadas chirping. Other campers were so nice. I would go back in a heartbeat. Cost for a night's RV site $20. What a bargain!
