“A characterful, comfy, friendly stay”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 for a stay in September 2013

We arrived after a long car journey delayed by major roadworks to the peace and fresh air of Happisburgh and Liz gardening . Her home made scones and strawberry jam were delicious, and every thought and care had gone into the conversion and fitting out of the Gig House. The village was, like Liz and the family, friendly and caring while the local and far-flung events and landscape were marvelous.

“A rather special place.”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 for a stay in April 2013

The Gig House was just perfect! Self contained, so clean, adequate off road parking and with everything one would need for a welcome break. Then there was the setting - the quiet lane, opposite the church, Happisburgh and an ideal base from which to explore Norfolk. We both enjoyed staying there so much that we immediately booked a return visit later in the year! We could not rate it highly enough.

“Fabulous cottage in a fabulous location”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We were very lucky to find this charming place in a beautiful part of the world. Having never visited Norfolk we had no real idea of what to expect but this cottage is beautiful. It is incredibly well maintained, exceptionally clean and has everything you could possibly need. It has large windows which attract the sun and a mezzanine overlooking the dining area from upstairs. All very modern whilst still maintaining the character of the property. There is also a lovely patio area which captures the sun until sundown. The owners are very friendly and live next door so are on hand if you need them. You even get beautiful scones on arrival. It is also dog friendly which is a bonus.
There is a pub which does fabulous food and is only a two minute walk away and a beautiful church just behind the property. The beach is a five minute walk away and is lovely. We walked both ways along the beach and tried some other stunning walks in the area.
The owners are opening another larger property next door which looks equally stunning so well worth a look.
We will definitely be returning.
We booked with Hoseasons who were very efficient in the handling of our booking.
Book it early as it is very popular.
