Lovely quiet little cottage with everything you could possibly need. Margaret is a fantastic host and very helpful. Great place to go for a break from busy day to day life..

“A modest, very clean, rural cottage”

If you are visiting this part of Norfolk, value peace and quiet (without too strong a phone signal) and appreciate having the use of a small swimming pool, then this is an ideal place to stay.

The cottage is very close to the National Trust's Oxburgh Hall. On a sunny day you could spend several hours there exploring the house and extensive grounds.

We found Margaret, the owner, very efficient in dealing with our enquiries and booking, and very kind and helpful during our stay.

The cottage's garden attracts a variety of birds. Not being able to put names to them, I can only recommend you follow the farm's facebook page for a good idea of what you will see in the garden and on the farm.

The cottage itself is very clean and convenient. The bedroom has lots of storage space. The bed is very comfortable; we slept soundly in such a tranquil setting. The kitchen is a little cramped, with a small dining table. In the lounge we found a selection of paperbacks, DVDs, jigsaws, and lots of tourist literature.

We spent just 3 weekend nights at the cottage but think that there is so much to explore that a week's stay would be ideal.

There is another dining table in the sittingroom, which can be easily moved, enabling guests at mealtimes to watch the birds in the garden.

“Peaceful and relaxing short break”

I stayed at Ferry Farm Cottage for a long weekend with my mother. The property is clean and well appointed, with a double bedroom and a fold-down single bed available to put in the living room if required. The owner, Margaret, was very friendly but unobtrusive. She brought us freshly picked sweet corn (delicious!) and tomatoes. The highlight of this property must be the heated indoor swimming pool. Renters have free use of the pool for one hour per day. There are lots of interesting places to visit in the vicinity and a good pub nearby with free Wi-Fi.

“calm country get away”
Reviewed 6 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

it was a lovely calm place to stay. there isnt much to do close by for anyone that is looking for a fun energetic break everything is a bit of a long drive away. although anybody looking to get away from the hectic city life it is perfect. the lovely indoor heated pool adds to the relaxing atmosphere. i would love to return again.

“Wonderfully relaxing”

What we loved about Ferry Farm Cottage:
- Swimming Pool - perfect way to start each day
- Fully self-contained - everything we needed was there including bath, DVD player, hairdryer, 4-hob cooker/grill/oven and its immaculately clean.
- Birdlife was amazing! For a pair of city folks, we absolutely loved spending the afternoon relaxing in the garden watching the birds, including a pair of pheasants.
- Location - within easy reach by car to markets, beaches, historic buildings (Oxbourgh Hall not to be missed), and there's a posh local pub within walking distance
- Friendly hosts - Margaret and Steve were always smiling, and very helpful & friendly
- Quiet - just us and the bird noises!
- Mostly flat landscape so its great for running, walking and cycling.

You won't like it if you can't disconnect from your internet (no connection) or mobile phone (patchy reception) for a few days.

If you want a really relaxing country break, then pack your walking shoes, swimmers, a box of food, a few board games and movies, and you'll be sorted. A lovely way to spend 4 days!
