Went yesterday with my 7 year old daughter as she's been learning about lighthouses at school. The guide,Tim was knowledgeable about the history of the building and the veiws of the town were great from the top. Only lasted 30mins but saw all we need to see. Great thanks.

Really enjoyed a trip up the Lighthouse. Although I don’t remember their names, the couple running it were lovely and very informative. Got to learn a lot about the workings of the Lighthouse and it’s importance. We were not rushed and encouraged to enjoy the views and workings. Highly recommend going on the tour if you get a chance.

Southwold was a great treat for my husband and I, as it was a significant place in his childhood. It was interesting for us to go back and relive old times for him. As for the town itself, it's very much like any other coastal towns by having its own unique shops and landmarks, including the lighthouse. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants in case you want something to eat.

It's a great landmark and is worth the look if you feel like making the climb.

Great visit with a lovely friendly welcome from a chap with an eyepatch who looked the part, to a fantastically entertaining guide on the top floor who was really lovely to listen to. She had great delivery and was really interesting and answered loads of questions!! (Very Patiently!!) Big climb to the top, but well worth it, with a bird's eye view over the town and surrounding countryside.
