Visited for a few drinks with a friend and I was taken aback by how awful this place was. The floor was covered in glass, the smell of weed was prominent in the air, and frankly I couldn’t wait to leave. The music itself was enjoyable and a really good mix of old tunes! Drinks prices were very cheap, but frankly I’d rather pay more elsewhere. Staff were friendly too so couldn’t fault that, it’s just not for me. Also, the toilet was so vile I could not bear to use it as I was afraid to catch something. I wouldn’t return personally.

We arrived at the Saracens head around midday Saturday and checked in a little early. The boy who checked us in was constantly telling us he "usually doesn't deal with the hotel." We requested a double room but ended up with two single beds, when questioned we were then offered a double room but we would have to pay extra, which we agreed to as it looked nicer. After running up and down the stairs we were told we couldn't have that room after all as someone had already booked it....organised. The room was freezing and the lock on the door was broken which you could easily open with a credit card! Overall the room looked dirty and needed a good deep clean. We went down to the reception in the pub because there never seemed to be anyone on the hotel reception desk, my other half had requested to see the manager 3 times which he was told would ring us when he was free, he never rang. We went out for the night and upon return with food in our hands were refused entry by a bouncer because we were eating and on our way up to our room, he then chased up the stairs, which was very professional. We attempted to sleep but music doesn't get turned off until 4am. Feeling rough we packed up and went down to speak to the manager, he apparently had no clue he was supposed to phone us (the look on his face said otherwise) he had no clue about the broken lock on the door and seemed to have no clue about anything else in the hotel. AVOID at all costs it's honestly worth it to pay a little extra to go elsewhere.

Thanks to Darren and the team for another great FGB dinner meeting! 34 of us were catered for in the Ballroom and we were treated to excellent service and a delicious two course menu with teas and coffees. We made a number of last minute changes to the meals and numbers, but the Saracen's Head staff accommodated the changes without complaint. We look forward to our next dinner at the SH in October.
Well done, one and all!

Been here a couple of times for lunch and the o it downside is the venue it's self, it's in dire need of a face lift, the outside furniture is all warped and peeling and the inside is dark and dingy, the toilets all though clean are very dated and resemble and underground public toilet. On the upside though the staff are very friendly, the service is very quick and the food is good value.

I was staying overnight with 13 of my teammates as we were playing in a hockey tournament in the area for the weekend. The "hotel" (I would call it more of a guesthouse) is located on top of a pub/bar. So be aware of that. It was noisy - probably the busiest bar in the area.

But some of the reviews on here make it out to be a complete dive - that is not the case. If you're looking for 5 star luxury, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a place to crash for the night, and happy to put up with a bit of noise, it's totally fine.
