An informal and relaxing experience in the company of two very charming and knowledgeable falconry experts in the guise of Sarah and Emily. The wonder of a beautiful barn owl landing on your arm and feeding from hand and silently flying around in a natural environment. This was one of the best outings my wife and I have had and certainly will not be forgotten. Very, very enjoyable.

A fabulous falconry experience at Hedingham Castle flying 5 different birds, including taking one for a woodland walk! Sarah-Jane and Paul were knowledgeable, as you would expect, and presented the day in a friendly and relaxed manner. Highly recommended.

I booked a half day falconry experience for my husband after being impressed by Coda Falconry at a day out at Castle Hedingham. I also paid a small fee to be a guest for the afternoon.

From the moment we arrived at Lee valley farm to the moment we left we were very very impressed at the service we got.

Our flying time was 12 noon and we arrived a little earlier. This enabled us to wonder round the farm for a bit and also watch the falconry display. Little did we realise, having front row seats, that half an hour later we would be standing right next to these magnificent birds.

The experience lasted a good 3 and a half hours. my husband handled 6 birds. a real mixture from owls, harris hawks, a kestrel and even a golden eagle!

I was even allowed to hold Otis the teeny owl and give him a little head tickle and also hold Nelson the golden eagle.

The experience also included a walk in the woods flying one of the harris hawks. That was something else...amazing.

Our falconers for the day were Sarah and Paul. They helped make the experience for both of us. They were so easy to talk to and knew their stuff.

We both went away with lots of pictures and some good memories. Im now thinking about the owl experience for myself for next year!

Emily and Luke were the two that showed us around and accompanied us on this day. Me and my partner were doing a half day experience and one non participant ticket. When we arrived we looked around the wonderful farm to begin with and soon went to the falconary section. We were greeted in at 12pm and entered the small room with a table and chairs. Sorting around the table we get told what is going to happen today. Shortly after we get a tour around the area and introduced to every bird. We learn about this names, breeds, diets and other things. After lots of bird introductions we are taken back into the small room to meet our first bird. Everyone put on gloves including the non participants. We past around the cutest owl and got to hold, stroke and tickle this small bird. While passing the bird around we all asked questions and got pictures.

After this we got up and took a walk outside and flew a few of the birds (the non participants watched. Obviously :) )
We then went on a short walk. All the participants had their chance to fly the falcon and have him land. After coming back the participants got to fly another bird and hold the biggest bird there. After everything we learned a lott, got some great pictures and had an amazing experience together.

Overall I defiantly plan on going back. Luke and Emily elwere amazingly kind, cheerful and helpful.

This experience was for my wife's birthday. She was delighted with the whole afternoon. It started with cuddling a gorgeous little owl and ended with an eagle on a glove. The woodland walk was magical with a Harris Hawk. The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm made it an afternoon to remember for a long time.
