Visiting the Forest of Dean and staying at the Tudor Farmhouse is always something to look forward to. Having upgraded from a room to a suite on our previous visit we again chose the excellent Loft Suite on this latest occasion. The interior accommodation is spacious, well thought out and extremely comfortable, with the location overlooking the adjacent hillside gardens being an additional bonus. Weather permitting the recently redesigned main hotel gardens offer a delightful setting for outdoor breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea or just provide somewhere to sit and relax with a good book or a glass of wine.

Our latest stay was a three night package including daily breakfast and dinner. The extent of the breakfast menu could not be faulted however my wife and I found dinner selection somewhat of a problem particularly after two nights, so decided to eat out on the third. The re-introduction of a daily special to the menu would hopefully overcome the present rather limited choice, particularly with the main course in mind where two out of the six choices are currently vegetarian or vegan.

The above would hopefully improve the dinner selection and so further enhance the stays of future guests at this excellent hotel.

We're on our way back in a few months time.

We stayed in the Byre. A converted milking shed. The “old” milking stall dividers divided the room into bathroom, bedroom, and small desk space. Very clever, beautifully done, and very comfortable. The toilet maybe too small for some people to close the door.
We ate in the restaurant, and loved it. Great food.

We stayed for 2 nights in room 3 in September. The room was a little compact considering the price, but was well furnished and comfortable. We had a problem with the bathroom radiator that would not turn off but we were impressed as it was promptly resolved by calling out a maintenance man.

The food, both for dinner and breakfast, was excellent and all the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.

All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Booked a bed, breakfast and evening meal package. Nice appointed room, good friendly helpful staff. On reflection we were both disappointed overhaul with the evening meal, (the specific point raised was dealt with efficiently). However we felt it missed the mark for us, wasn't what we had expect having read all the reviews.

Beautiful old farmhouse, tastefully converted and offering good comfort and great food.
We had the package including dinner and breakfast which are both excellent.
We also took the foraging course which was very interesting and well worth the money.
