Media City Premier Inn

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks ago
Very clean and the staff very friendly. Food and service was excellent. Room was very clean but bed was not the most comfortable on this visit - unusual as normally excellent. Only point preventing 5 stars is that I could not regulate the room to be cool enough and air con turned itself off during the night making the room very warm as there are no opening windows. This could be improved as it did disrupt my sleep.

The bed was bloody awful, all the ones i have stayed lately their beds have been old and knackered mattress, and the hood night sleep is absolute garbage , will never stay in another premier inn, the one in olbury Birmingham was worst , old smelly and room under the main stairs, v noisy

Room tip: Get new mattresses and better air fresheners toilets stink

Couldn't fault the hotel, fantastic place to be over looking the quays, a comfortable 2 day break... we got there early on the Easter Sunday dropped off the case and went for a lovely walk around at 2.10 we decided to head back to see if we could check in..... we was rudely told NO WE HAVE NO EARLY CHECK INs TODAY !!!! ok we said and went out i was very upset about how rude she was As i've worked at a premier inn and other hotels around many years ago and you don't speak rudely to customers like that.... throughout our stay i tried my best to stay out of her way as it was like she wanted the pay but not the work.... the staff member was on the following day BREAKFAST no expression on her face ask ....ROOM NUMBER ANY ALERIGIES SIT WHERE EVER...... then following morning not as bad, when we where leaving she turned to me and my husband and said have a nice day... what a shame could be a lovely hotel ......

You know what you're getting with a Premier Inn. However, this branch fell slightly short of the mark. The room was clean and reasonably quiet, despite some midnight giddiness from a nearby room, where we think the three witches were practising for a Macbeth scene with no attempt to keep their cackling and clomping footsteps down. Check-in took an inordinate time - the longest we've experienced in our many Premier Inn stays. The reception lad was trying his best, on his own, and neither of the automatic check-in machines were working, hence a long queue. We didn't opt for breakfast but a late drink in the busy bar was swiftly served. Finally, the water in the bathroom at around 9.30am was tepid at best. We were quite glad we were only staying here for one night. However, a good location for the Lowry and the tram.

It was not the best hotel we have stayed in , the food was just ok, the room was again just ok , there was a horrible smell when you first walk in the room and the bed was NOT comfy. we didn't get the discount on the car park as there was no one on reception which happened quite a lot , there was no orange juice so couldn't have the cocktail i wanted, so asked for a southern comfort guess what no southern comfort either, in all honesty I wouldn't stay here again

We went to Manchester for the Coronation Street Experience and this hotel was just 5 minutes walk from the venue so it was convenient. Its a pretty standard Premier Inn but felt a bit budget. The room was fine with all the normal facilities and the beds were fine. The restaurant was a bit lacking though. There was no butter put out for the toast. The breakfast items (fried eggs etc.) were not always replenished in a timely manner. The tea/coffee facilities were placed in a walkway and this caused congestion. At the bar and at breakfast there was no Orange Juice. The staff were lovely and were doing their best but seemed to be overstretched.
