The house was one of the nicest places we have ever rented. We were really pleased to be able to stay directly on the seafront again, in what is the perfect location: just away from the business of the pier, but 2 minutes from the best part of the High Street. The photos didn't do the house justice. Liz, the owner, was very helpful and efficient and met us when we arrived - apparently we were the first guests to stay since it had been refurbished. The house was very classy - a lovely, historic house with a lived-in and elegant vibe. It wasn’t like a rental at all - but staying in Liz and her husband’s home, full of pictures, books, games etc. The wood panelling and the fireplaces were beautiful. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well. We hadn’t expected 3 large living rooms. We loved the bold pictures, and vibrant orange velvet sofas. The big sofa in the upstairs front living room was wonderful for lying out and just staring at the sea, and reading, and listening to music. Bliss. As was the window seat. There were only four of us and we've never had so much space before. It was relaxing also to sit out on the roof terrace decking in the afternoon to catch the sun. I can only think of one downside - mind your head: lots of the old doorframes are quite low!
