“Great location, yummy breakfast but dud room”
Reviewed 4 October 2010

Perfect location right on the beach. Sadly we got the dud room out of the 6. Number 5 is an attic room with the worlds smallest shower and smelly toilet. We literally had to bend in the shower, we were not pre warned of this. The bed was uncomfortable and the linen and pillow cheap. Also a cupboard full of ancient nasty coat hangers. The wifi did not 'reach us' as we were in the statisphere of the house.

The room was not worth £80 per night.

Saying this, I had a look at all the other rooms and they were alot better. The breakfasts were lovely and tasty but the timimg of them 830-930 a touch early when you are on a restful break.

We stayed in room 6 which was a light comfortable room overlooking the beach. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast with fresh fruit salad and proper english breakfast with real sausages. The location was about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and the restaurants. Despite being on the seafront, the room was quite and we slept very well.
Would definitely recommend for weekend break.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. We were warmly welcomed, the house is bright and airy with a definite quirky seaside air to the decorations. The bedlinen and towels were as described on the B&B website - soft and fresh and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts are the best we have ever had in a B&B - fresh fruit salad, freshly cooked main of your choice, and plenty of cereals, yoghurts etc. to choose from. The preserves were excellent quality too. It is convenient for the town and very close to the sea. We ate at Wheelers on the High Street one evening which lives up to its reputation - again the best fish dishes we have ever tasted. These two places alone would make us go back to Whitstable, but there are also plenty of other nice places, pubs etc. there too.
My only negative comment is that the shower cubicle in our bathroom could have done with a bit of sprucing up - shower curtain, shower head and the grill on the extractor.

Right next to the sea front and the centre of town, and next to a seaside car park, so location very convenient. Considerable effort has gone into making this a lovely seaside B&B - attractive rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff. My only (minor) complaint was that the mattress was a bit thin. Overall very good and I would recommend

Great little find in a terrific spot in Whitstable. The rooms are nicely decorated in typical English style and the welcome from the owner is great. As for the breakfast- i'd go back just for that. we had a great stay and have recommended it to everyone we can since coming home. loved it.
