I went to this place when it first opened around 30 years ago and was impressed then. So when i went again it was a bit of romantic nostalgia. It may have had many owners since then but it has evolved from a comfortable pub restaurant to an all round hotel guest house. Very impressed.

We had been on the beach with the dogs and lost track of time. Wandered back looking for lunch and arrived at the Oak at 2.20. Asked about lunch given that they stop food service at 2.30 and were served without a fuss.
And then a really pleasant surprise as both food and beer really good. Burger flavour full and tasty and mushroom and spinach pie had my partner entrusting. If you pass the Oak by it will be your loss!

Room Tip: Find,t stay so can,t help you here.

We were really happy with the family room here, heaps of space and after 10 days on the road in a range of different places it was great even if just for a night to have space!
The food was great for dinner and breakfast and the staff very kindly left a bottle of bubbles for us to welcome us as part of our honeymoon trip.
Thank you team!

Stayed here for a single night booking. Our bedroom was spacious and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable and it had all the amenities required for a 1 night stay.
A few minor details but expected as this is not a modern property is that the floorboards creeked a lot when walking across them and the bathroom was a little dated. Dont get me wrong the room and ensuite were very clean and I had no problems with either.
Down stairs we had a 2 course meal which was very tasty. I had the Roast of the day and was even offered to mix the meats which were lamb and pork. As others have even shown in their pictures the Yorkshire Puddings are huge .
Later that evening we had a few locals come meet up with us in the bar. Was told during the week its quiet but busy at weekends. The bar area was also very pleasant and we had a great night. My only regrets were I tried to buy a round of drinks with cash from Northern Ireland bank notes to be told sorry we dint accept them here. This was a little off putting as the notes are GBP Stirling. It seems common that many places are reluctant to take my cash although paying by card was no problem.
The other was at the end of the night the person locking up didnt realuse we were residents when he asked us to leave as now closed and followed behind as we made our way to our rooms ( we had 2 rooms)
Dont get me wrong its a pleasent place, clean and tidy with a good breakfast and ample parking and easy to find so we had a great stay there
