Thanks Richard & it's great to know your dining experience far exceeded your expectations. The world is full of surprises!! lol
On a serious note their are restraints being a listed building & what you can do to the front facade which in the summer helps with hanging baskets & al fresco tables & chairs & obviously when the sun shines???
I would like to thank you for your kind comments & all being well hope to see you both again.

First time hubby and I ever ate at the Queens Head was in February and I vowed we’d be back. We decided to have a family day out with our Staffie on Easter Sunday and booked lunch at the Queens Head knowing that dogs are allowed in the bar dining area which is brilliant. The quality and taste of the food was every bit as good as when we were here for an evening meal. I had 3 courses which was only £20.95 amazing value for a restaurant of this calibre. Gary and his staff were very attentive despite the place being extremely busy and they were fantastic with our Staffie too who thoroughly enjoyed his little treats from the jar of dog biscuits on the windowsill as well as the kind gentleman from the table across from us. There were 4 dogs in the dining area when we were in including ours and they were all impeccably behaved. It is such a treat for us going out for a meal but to be able to take our dog as well is the icing on the cake. Thank you Queens Head for making our Easter Sunday special.

Thank Tracy A

Many thanks Tracey for your kind comments & making your Easter Sunday an enjoyable one. That word 'value for money' is certainly open to debate & everyone has their own definition of this but I would like to think we achieve this serving locally sourced food to compliment the service & atmosphere which overall should relate be an enjoyable experience & visit.
In truth it's impossible to please everyone but we certainly try as we want people to leave out hotel happy & content for another return visit or mention to family & friends.
Hope to see you in the future along with the family.

We’ve been to the Queens Head four or five times in the past couple of years. The welcome is always genuine and service attentive and friendly. I find it difficult not to order the lasagne as it’s just the best I’ve ever had eating out. So rely on the other half to order different stuff which has included pheasant curry, fish pie, steak..... all homemade inc. breads and dips before your meal is served. Nice little bar area for pre dinner drink. Visitors should definitely put it on their list and locals should already know it’s just brill.

Wow high praise indeed. Firstly many thanks for your continued support, either that or your glutens for punishement?? lol
It's nice to feel appreciated but in truth all we are trying to do is offer an overall pleasant & enjoying dining experience so hopefully you return or spread the word to family & friends,
We continually try to serve consistent high locally sourced quality produce without the pretentiousness or high prices in a relaxed & informal manner & I would like to think we can cater for everyone's needs.
Again many thanks for the high praise & see you in the not too distant future.

Absolutely gorgeous meals served by great staff. Salmon was cooked to perfection. You get a selection of artisan breads with dips while you wait for your meal. Brilliant

A big thanks Bobby for your comments & please your meal with us was tick-adee-boo. In truth it's the small details that make the difference & stand out from our other competitors ie homemade breads, dips & balsamic which compliment the meal & hopefully make the evening experience a pleasurable one. Hope to see you in the future.

I was visiting Berwick with my family and partner and decided on The Queens Head Hotel for my birthday meal. The service was amazing and all done by one lady on her own, she had her hands full but was always smiling and very attentive. The food was lovely especially the lasagne, I would highly recommend this place.

Many thanks for your kind words Spoo & the person you are relating to is our assistant manager Katrina who certainly has a passion for the business & takes great in her work. The auld saying 'you are only as good as your staff'' certainly bares some truth.
Hope to see yu again if you decide to return to this beautiful part of the country.
