My wife and I enjoyed last year's holiday at Filey where we hired a cottage on the sea front. We had a brilliant time and decided to repeat but staying at Berwick, a town we had previously only visited en route to and from Scotland.
Many internet hours were spent seeking the ideal accommodation, but could find nowhere matching 6 Pier Maltings specification. The place seemed so light and spacious from the photographs, so two weeks were booked.
No problems with booking or communications and we eagerly awaited our visit. Like two excited children we explored this upside down house arriving at the third floor open plan sitting, dining and kitchen. Wow! The photographs do not do justice to the East coast light, the colours and patterns across the estuary. The rooms and furnishings sparkled and still had that "new" look.
After the journey a cup of tea beckoned and the 'makings' were all laid out, together with a freshly baked drizzle cake.
We like it quiet and the thick walls and double glazing of the Maltings ensured this. With the comfy beds we slept like the proverbial logs!
Berwick did not disappoint, nor the surrounding countryside. Two weeks flew by, the only sadness being when we had to leave.
Thank you Michael and Katharine - 6 Pier Maltings pushed all the right buttons for us.More
