Spent the weekend at the Hemmel, and had a great time. When we got there we were greeted by the owner, who showed us what was what.
The property was clean, for our arrival, as well as being modern as well kitted out with everything we could need. The owner even had the fire stove going for our arrival, making us feel at home at once. She even left us some home made cakes, which for the record were really nice.
If your looking for a chilled weekend, with amazing views, Then book here.
Also if the skies are clear at night, get out side and check out the stars. They were amazing in the dark skies. Only a shame we didnt take a telescope to enjoy them more.
Overall, a very good weekend for me and my family. Would be more than happy to recommend.
A fantastic plush barn conversion. Very much home from home, a perfect retreat for family, friends or a combination. Everything you require here.
And most of all, dog friendly! We have 2 large dogs, so it can be difficult to find self catering property but Kate was more than accommodating to us and the hounds!
A very relaxing location, fantastic views and the property is of a very high standard.
Will definitely be returning, a lovely part of the country. Highly recommended.

Lovely barn conversion a mile from Otterburn. Cottage has a huge garden, underfloor heating and a log burner, loads of space and everything is beautifully clean and well presented. Home made scones on arrival too. We had a great holiday - the best cottage we've ever stayed in.
We stayed for three nights on a bright and not too cold January weekend. The cottage is lovely. I could've quite happily stayed there the entire weekend, cooking and enjoying the fireplace with a good book. The area is truly wonderful, with some cracking views and pubs serving great local dishes and meats.
The beds are comfy and neither couple felt hard done by with the room allocation as both were nice and spacious. I just wish I could've stayed a little longer to properly explore!
After a long 5 hour drive from Bristol, over hills, through valleys and winding roads in thick fog, it was lovely to be greeted by Kate (the owner) who had just lit the fire for us, and had left some freshly baked cheese scones.
The Hemmel, is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and our dachshund loved being able to run from room to room without having to conquer stairs. Stunning local scenery and plenty of places to visit. We enjoyed chilly walks in the fog, and cosy evenings by the fire.
The only downside, having to leave to head back to the hustle and bustle of life.
I would definitely recommend the Hemmel and plan to visit again one day.
