Been in here 5 times in 3 years and good Friday was certainly the busiest I've seen, which leads me to say I've had a better meal and service in the past so not sure if standards have slipped or it was just too busy.

2nd time in a row we've turned up here with a reservation and they had no note of it. Fitted us in but would have been embarrassing if they couldn't. If you've booked might be worth phoning a few hours before to check.

On the food front it was a bit disappointing. Minestrone soup had no flavour and potato skins had teeth breaking potential. My wife's pizza was a bit burnt and my meatball pasta had a couple of giant tasty meatballs but lacked a bit of sauce.

Staff were a bit miserable and didn't show any interest in whether our food had been any good.

Good atmosphere in a busy restaurant. Upstairs was freezing cold with plenty of tables (one used) but seemed aimed at a different customer (giant ape statue gave a clue to that).

Generally disappointed. Lovely internally with a good atmosphere but food and service heading South.

We visited Seahouses and were looking for something different, given that most the pubs stagger their opening times so they share the trade or at least that’s the impression we got why else would somewhere stop serving at 7pm ? We very nearly walked past this restaurant but we are so glad we didn’t, down a small pathway off the main road, inside it is deceivingly spacious, with pleasant surroundings, the staff were friendly without being overbearing. The service was prompt without being rushed, we were served by the manager and when one of us ordered a dish which in his opinion just wouldn’t work he politely pointed this out which not many restaurants would do, and give us a different recommendation, it turns out he was spot on. This wasn’t the cheapest restaurant but in this case you certainly get what you pay for, the restaurant backs on to Seafields Caravan park and also does take away, handy if you fancy pizza and a night in.
I will certainly return on my next visit to Seahouses.

This was our first visit, but certainly will not be our last! Made to feel very welcome, taken to our table, a drinks order taken and then given time to make our choices. Water brought to the table too. Great menu to suit all tastes at reasonable prices, and the house wine was excellent. The food was well presented and was really delicious and t the servings were generous.
