Stayed as part of a chessington weekend with kids. The hotel is nice and the rooms pretty big for 2 kids and 2 adults.
Reception staff very good with the kids and gave them some colouring packs etc.
It all fell down when you get the bar area. The service was absolutely shocking and the food awful. £22 for a rib eye steak isn’t massively expensive for a hotel and I am prepared to pay it if decent. Paid an extra £2 for pepper sauce. The sauce was lumpy like porridge, clearly even packet mix sauce is beyond the chef’s capabilities.
Steak pretty well cooked but tiny and not great quality. Had about 10 fries with it so still hungry after it.
Wife had a gourmet burger, she said it was edible but no more.
One child ordered chicken with mash. The chicken came out with a slice of bread with no butter and then 5 mins later the mash.
Simarlily my onion rings for the steak. They came on my last mouthful so pointless (they were terrible anyway).
So the hotel is worth staying in, the staff pleasant enough just eat in a local restaurant and come back for a drink would be my advice. More
