This motel is at the far end of town, fairly close to the main highway through town. It is an older stye motel, but OK for the price. Don't expect anything more and you won't be disappointed. You will find it hard to get any food after dark in the motel or the town so plan ahead.

Room Tip: Far away from the road if you can

Travelling around the central west and stopped at Blayney for the night. Found a vacancy at the Goldfields Motel. This is an older style of motel, but clean with all the basic amenities. Room considered of a queen size comfortable bed, flat screen TVs basic shower inclusions. Some minor traffic noise, but bearable as the rooms are off the main road and set back on the property. There is a restaurant, but it is only open on certain nights, not when we were there. All rooms are on the ground level for easy access.

Room Tip: Further from the road the better

The accommodation was adequate. Lacks the little extras one would expect. Although there was a toaster and microwave there wasn't any crockery or utensils available. Some of the milk capsules in our fridge were out of date by 4 months.

Room Tip: Convenient to town

It's not 5 star, but you're not paying 5 star prices and for what you pay it's good. The room was okay clean enough, good sized tv, comfortable bed in a quiet location. Bathroom is very small but serviceable. Several places to eat in town, Chinese is good and so is pizza place.

A quick visit to Newbridge nearby for the Winter Solstice festival had us driving through recent snow and experiencing minus four degrees overnight! Having said that the warm, cosy room with great bed and elecric blankets and good heating had us snuggling early. Service was excellent and hot breakfast delivery on time and yummy. The nearby pubs had good food and it is a stone throw to Carcoar, a very inteesting heritage township where the Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith is based. Along with the interesting train station and hospital history (get the local version of Matron's house) a great hot chocolate wa to be had. The Blayney bakery is top notch BTW and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Don't use the bathroom light as the fan will suck all the heat out of the bathroom in seconds!
