We spent a wonderful week here in early April 2018, in a glorious location with great views to distant hills, surrounded by fields of yellow flowers (flores amarillas!). We hired a car in Madrid - the drive is just over 300km, took about 3 hours.

The hospitality from Iva and Paul was outstanding. Our room was comfortable, the breakfasts were good and we weren’t tempted to drive out for dinner – Iva, Paul and Iva’s dad produced excellent 3 course meals. It was very relaxing to dine at their big table with a glass or two of wine, chatting with other guests of several nationalities.

We had one day when the weather was very cold, wet and unpleasant, and it was great to be able to stay in, sitting by a fire in the warm lounge, reading.

We did a few walks from the house and in the surrounding countryside and saw a lot of interesting wildlife including vultures, eagles, a Golden Oriole, a pair of Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers and the 800 year old oak tree (La Terrona) near Zarza.

The finca is in a great location for getting to Merida, Trujillo, Caceres and the small towns and villages nearby. The fig shop in Almoharin is worth visiting.

All in all, Extremadura is a beautiful region and Finca Flores Amarillas is a great place to stay.

We were not expecting such a nice inn in the middle of beautiful country. The spring wild flowers were stunning on the hike we took from the house. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the dinner was healthy and yummy. In fact I went home and tried to recreate the chicken thighs we ate! I liked that whoever was having dinner at the in shared the same table.

The facility is new but everything feels rustic. Comfortable bed and loved our view!

We found this on the internet and booked direct. It was a wonderful place to stay for our five days in Extremadura. Our room though not large was well proportioned and fitted out on the first floor with great views across the garden, fields and to the distant mountains. There was a juliet balcony with two french windows, a very comfy double bed, lights for each side of the bed and a large wardrobe. The bathroom had what you needed and a great walk in shower: lashings of hot water. On the same floor is a kitchen for self use where breakfast was served as well as a sitting room and two large balconies one at each end. Downstairs was a lounge and large dining area for our evening meals..which should not be missed! Iva our hostess looked after us so well yet in a way that did not impose, not an easy thing to do: she ran the house mainly on her own but with help from other family members, as well as looking after her three children, dogs and cats! Her evening meals were terrific... three filling and balanced courses of freshly prepared food. Everything about the finca flores amarillas was lovely and next trip to Extremadura will certainly involve another visit.
Despite the isolation of the finca at the end of a track 2 kms from the village, the electric supply never failed and the wifi reception was superb.

Room Tip: All five rooms are on the first floor and have views.

I stayed at this beautiful finca in October. It could not have been more perfect. It is located in the serene countryside just a short distance to a small welcoming village. The rooms are beautiful. The food is amazing and the hosts are friendly, flexible and accommodating. They made my stay even more special. I took walks everyday and I took hundreds of pictures too. The landscape is breaktaking - and you should see the sunsets! Wow.

Grandparents, daughter, granddaughter - we just spent a couple of days at Las Flores Amarillas. It is a modern Casa Rural about 3 kms outside of Almoharin, "the Fig Capital of Europe", located at the end of a narrow country lane, nestled in amongst the olive groves and surrounded by the gorgeous hills of the Sierra de Montanchez. It is has bedrooms with beautiful en suite bathrooms (and balconies!) and spacious downstairs dining and living space. Not to be missed is the fabulous swimming pool, much appreciated by all ages, especially the young. There was also a conference room that made me think that if I had a company in Spain I might think about having a management retreat there. Internet connections were fine - just a little slow compared to the big city.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments about the finca. We're very proud of what we've created here and the new pool area really is the icing on the cake. Yes, internet is not super fast, but you can usually watch your favourite netfix series without too many problems. Look forward to welcoming you back soon! Best Regards
