Bend is fortunate to have a quality institution such as this. They cover a lot of topics (birds and animals, Indian and settler history, paleontology and others). Easy to park and walk and kids will love the feeding of otters and talks about birds of prey. The cafe was offering limited options during winter but what they had was good and nutritious. Plus if you have your own food you can eat it in a separate room. The Indian display and the talk about early settlers were top notch.

We have been here a couple times, and my kids always have fun. the exhibits are interesting, and this trip we sat in on the raptor talk with a red-tailed hawk and handler. Cafe offers decent selections for lunch or a snack, although it's pricey.

We were fortunate enough to catch a 'free' day thanks to the local credit union. We had only been here one time many years ago when it first opened. Wow has it expanded. Superb displays. A very comprehensive native american display was especially enjoyable.

River otters, turtles, Indian tepees and raptors! Fabulous collect of artifacts from the local tribes. All the displays very well maintained and up to date. Interactive displays for kids. Really helpful employees and well stocked gift shop that includes lots of books for all ages and those reasonably priced stuffed animals made by Wild Republic that actually look like the animal or bird. Highly recommended if you are driving up Hwy 97 in Oregon
