Visited the little museum in downtown Brownsville Oregon. Part of it set up in train cars. If you have a couple of hours visit this little jewel of a museum, plenty of interesting history to look and read about in this quaint little town.

I have been here numerous times. They also have the "Stand By Me Celebration" in July in Brownsville. O yeah, LOL Brownsville is also the home to Chickenstock. It is a vintage car show, antique and animal show.
But back to the museum. It is run by volunteers and donations. The volunteers I have ran into there gave always been great and interesting to talk with. Thus isn't your normal museum. But there is a wealth of items to be seen and admired here. Great bits of Oregon history. I really have enjoyed trips here since it seems so much of Oregon's history is rapidly disappearing.
The town also has some interesting older buildings in the downtown area.

There is so much to see and learn at the Linn County Museum including train cars, history of the local area and the city of Brownsville. Brownsville is one of the earliest settlement. The day I visited the museum and Brownsville there was a kiddie parade, a picnic, and a quilt show. The tour of the Moyer House was informative and beautifully decorated in the era it was built.

This is a wonderful museum to take the family for a days outing. A wide array of artifacts and local Oregon history. The employees or volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. I don't remember if they charged to get in but if they did it was a small amount. This is a great place to visit and then go out for a nice lunch or visit. Brownsville has several very nice local restaurants and the people at the museum are happy to make suggestions. I wish I could remember the restaurant they recommended it was great. They made their own homemade bread. The museum also has a nice selection of books. A really nice find on a day we were just looking for something to do. Brownsville is a very small town that has done a good job of creating and maintaining a great small town atmosphere. Thumbs up.

This small gem is full of interesting and varied items. I love the scenes that are realistically set: the store, the hair dresser, the doctors office, Many of these were local businesses. The little movie theater in the old train car is delightful. If you are doing local family history, there is much material available to help out. Very well worth a visit.
