Owner description: It’s a crisp, dewy morning on the Oregon Coast, a perfect day to spend at Ocean Dunes Golf Links. The smell of fresh cut grass wafts up as you look down at an immaculately white golf ball resting on the tee. You take a breath, pulling your arms back, and swing through, following the ball with your gaze as it soars out over a gorgeous expanse of green between swaths of windswept Coastal forest. The ball disappears in the sunshine; now is the moment of truth. If today’s your day you’ll watch that little ball drop right down onto the green (or even right into the hole!); if not, you might hear the dreaded and familiar “plop.” Whether you’re on your game or not, the setting is so beautiful, you’ll have a great time even if you land your ball into a sand trap or water hazard. You may even have the time of your life, and become one of our hole-in-one hall of famers. Welcome to Ocean Dunes Golf Links Looking to do some golfing on the central Oregon Coast? Look no further than Ocean Dunes Golf Links. Located in Florence, this course is a favorite for locals and travelers alike. With a unique course layout, breathtaking scenery, and a few unexpected turns here and there, visitors will enjoy a challenging and exhilarating golf experience. Complete with a clubhouse with snack bar, 18 fun and exciting holes, carts available for rental, and a vista of dunes, mountains and forests, your experience at Ocean Dunes Golf Links will be unlike any other.

Living in Florence, I play here at least once a week. Hats off to the grounds crew in that the course is always in absolutely great shape winter, spring, summer, and fall, even after several days of rain.
Especially nice greens.
Be warned though, narrow fairways make this a shot makers course. Miss a fairway and you're in trouble 90% of the time.

Here's what: In the last couple of years Ocean Dunes has vastly improved its fairways (lovely grass at very fsir lengths) and greens (true rolls, well repaired). But the real advantage of Ocean Dunes over the more reputed Sandpines is Ocean Dunes' perfect recognition of the value of DUNES, unlike Sandpines which chose to bury dunes under all kinds of grasses and forbs. Plus, except on 10 & 17-18, the course drains almost immediately for excellent play within a day of heavy rains.

Beautiful fairways. Fast greens. Number 11 is one of the most beautiful holes on the coast. Challenges abound. Hitting them straight is a lot more important than hitting them long on this course. Overall, perhaps the best value to be had for many a mile in any direction. Big advantage over the Eugene and valley courses is the sand base. No mud, even in the rain!

An enjoyable round of golf at Ocean Dunes in early December. The course was well-maintained, people in the pro shop very friendly, and the weather cooperated! Value for money.

The course was in great shape especially for winter. We just moved to Florence, and I couldn’t wait to try our “new home course”. Really looking forward to Spring and summer golfing here! Great customer service, very friendly, helpful staff. The Pro is wonderful! We will probably be joining as members when we get back from our travels.
