Amazing value and we just happened to be there on 1/2 price bottled wine night!
Your entrees come with your choice of 2 soups plus a house salad. The house salad had, mixed greens, beets, oranges, hazelnuts, red onions and feta cheese with a raspberry vinaigrette. So NOT your typical house salad of iceberg and Italian dressing. Entrees were perfect!

We were told about the restaurant by one of the winery's in the area. Casual, but great food. Fish is fresh and we enjoyed visiting with the staff. Great wine selection. Nice location for date or quiet evening.

This was a recommended food stop in the area, and we were very pleased. We were not very hungry and the staff did a great job making small plate recommendations along with a wine to pair with our choices. The waiter, Ryan, was attentive but not bothersome. Our soup, salad and small plate selections were all excellent! We were allowed ample time between courses, so we did not feel rushed. The staff was as friendly as we came to expect from most of the people we met throughout Oregon! It was an overall excellent experience and our best food while visiting the Willamette Valley!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch Sunday and were thrilled with what we found. The ambiance was charming - I can't wait to see it at night in the fall and around Christmas time. The food was both surprising and delicious. We had the duck with pears that were poached in white wine - I need to learn to do that - which I enjoyed with a Peartini. Mmmmm. We also had the chicken shawarma pizza. Never would have thought of that, but wow, it was out of this world! I can't wait to return to try more of this menu. We were told the menu is revised regularly though, so we won't wait too long. Then, when the menu changes, we will experience even more of what this brilliant chef dreams up. This place will really make you love life!

Newberg isn't that populated with fine dining, so Subterra was a pleasant surprise. Everything here is homemade, including the sausage. Sauces very creative and intense. Fresh bread, homemade desserts and good wine list featuring local wines (half off wines on Tuesdays). Service was very slow (more about the kitchen than waitstaff and maybe because of preparation), so come relaxed. The duck breast and short ribs were excellent. Prices reasonable.
