Description: Ruddick/Wood is a casual restaurant and tavern serving locally focused, seasonal, new-American fare alongside craft beer, wine and cocktails in a renovated 1920s garage in downtown Newberg, Oregon. Ruddick/Wood has been built around the idea of country kitchens, roadhouses, saloons and way-points; and reflects our love of local food and drink, as well as our desire to create a place that is part of the community fabric. Think dinners of wood-fired steaks, roasted fish and flatbreads; vegetable plates and salads; house-made desserts; and rotating snacks all changing with the season. Think of classic cocktails; small-batch spirits; craft breweries; and lesser-known wineries. These are the things that make Ruddick/Wood what it is.

Drinks and beer on tap are good. The menu items ambitious but not quite there. For tavern food pricing is on the high side. Menu items like truffle fries are great. Deviled eggs w horseradish kick are good but for six dollars ought to have more than four halves me thinks. Also turning away customers during a shift change doesn't seem to make good business sense to me. They're new so hopefully as they grow they will get better. Lots of potential with a good atmosphere.

We loved the ambiance of Ruddick/Wood--great job on the remodel of an old building in downtown Newberg. Nice selection of beer. We were not adventurous enough to try the cocktails. My husband loved the lamb ribs with yogurt sauce and I the pork sugo with polenta. The food was much heartier than the pub fair I expected.
