We were headed to Portland, and being that we are vegetarians, we searched ahead of time for possible restaurants. Checked the trip advisor reviews and decided to try the Blossoming Lotus. Arrived around 11:45 on a Thursday morning and were seated immediately. We looked at the menu, which had several items that looked delicious.
We decided on the BLT and the Thai Wrap. The BLT was an add-on to the menu-on a little card attached to the menu, so I'm not certain if it is a regular menu item, if not, it should be. The bacon was a coconut bacon, with lettuce, tomato, portabello mushroom, and aioli sauce on a ciabatta roll. The thai wrap was filled with spicy barbecue soy, very similar in consistency to pulled pork, carrots, cabbage, and cucumber in a wheat wrap. It came with a small container of peanut sauce. My companion and I decided ahead of time that we would each have half of the sandwiches. They were phenomenal! Very flavorful and honestly, the best vegetarian food that we have ever eaten! We loved it so much that we stopped in again at the end of our Oregon trip on the way back to the airport. The only thing we regret about this place is that we weren't in Portland long enough to try everything on the menu AND that the Blossoming Lotus is in Portland and not in Phoenix, where we live.
