Was in Portland to help our daughter move. After a full day of work we wanted seafood and chose this restaurant because it was close to her new apartment. We started with an order of fried oysters. They were fantastic. Had a halibut special and a salmon dish. Both were great. If burritos are your thing they have the biggest one I've ever seen. The men that were eating them said they were really good. The atmosphere was nice but it was really warm in the restaurant, dress accordingly.

Good service, bad oysters. What's to say?

The sad fact is that Portland, for all its deservedly culinary reputation, once one leaves downtown and heads west into the burbs, there are few restaurants to praise (all the really great places are east of the Willamette river).

Alas, S&R is a prime example. Tucked away on a west-side road, it gets most of its business from locals too indolent or fearful to make the east side trek. S&R is overpriced for the quality of the food, crowded and features some of the most uncomfortable seating imaginable. If you're from out of town.....don't!

I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn't measure up to the other restaurants you have visited around town. Serving high quality fresh seafood is our #1 priority. Many of our guests appreciate the value we offer compared to downtown restaurants which is why we tend to be crowded around peak meal times. We are never satisfied with resting on our laurels so I would appreciate any constructive criticism you would like to offer--my email is seasonsregions@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
Chef Greg

Five of us went to Seasons & Regions after a long meeting nearby. One man didn't like the place because "it was too noisy." His wife "loved the food." So we didn't really know what to expect. Being the first really sunny day in ages, it was rather depressing to walk into a very dark, noisy place with rather loud music. Fortunately, there was space for us out in the patio dining area, also noisy, but light and no funky music. Our waitress was great. We were surprised by a lovely plate of scones, gratis. My husband and I ordered the veggie omelet with wonderful fresh veggies (spinach, mushrooms, onions, squash and bell peppers) topped with marinara sauce and accompanied by
good fries, not the commercial "shoestrings." One lady had an entree salmon salad that was delicious. Her husband had the hangtown fries that he loved. Another gentleman had the rockfish fish taco with rice & beans (I think I'll order that next time).
We will gladly go there again provided there is patio seating available. Inside is just too dank, dark and depressing, although perhaps OK for a bar. Since we meet several times a year, this seems like a close and convenient choice.

Thanks for giving us a try and writing such a thoughtful review! I'm happy to hear the food was "delicious" and the service was "great." If you would like a patio table next time I would encourage you to make a reservation (yes we take reservations for any time of day) and request the patio. Hopefully this was the first of many visits!

Cheers!

Very good experience from the appetizer through desert. Our calamari appetizer was good right and nicely seasoned. Main course servings were generous as was the salad. The desert serving we split was more than enough for two. We will be back to this very fine SW Portland experience.
