This place looked like it would once have been really nice. The chalets, as others say are quite well designed and are really spacious. It really is a shame that it seems to have been left to the elements. Ignore the management claims that this place is supposed to look 'rustic' - it is more akin to finding an abandoned resort in the jungle. Reading reviews going back to 2012, management have claimed to be dealing with the issues of the fading resort but clearly are not. The beach bar is abandoned and has most of the roof tiles missing. There is also a large suite at the beach front that has a collapsed veranda. Whilst we were there a 2 metre wooden beam from the veranda of someones chalet fell down. Additionally, the spa and other areas are (permanently?) closed. All of this run down appearance does give the place a certain charm, but with the added excitement of a little danger when walking around.
Despite the "abandoned" look, this place isn't too bad, but I would probably be massively annoyed if I had flown half way around the world for this. The staff are really nice and helpful and seem to do whatever they can to help out. The pool is nice but crumbling slightly, and if you like deserted beaches, this place has no-one on it. The food is ok, with the occasional really good dish, if...This place looked like it would once have been really nice. The chalets, as others say are quite well designed and are really spacious. If you are expecting luxury, you are not going to get it, but if you want quiet, peace and a place that is seemingly to yourself, then this might be the place for you.More
