There is no doubt that the organic and GMO-free products at Doc Bakers are top notch. The juices are unique and delightful (LOVE the SweetGreen juice), and their home made almond milk will just about convince you that it could be the newest answer to that pesky question "If you could take one thing to a deserted island with you, what would it be?" And that's coming from a (former) almond milk pessimist.
Service is friendly and genuine. Some reviewers commented on the lab coats of the staff as being tacky, but if you take a minute to ask about the history of this place you will learn that it was born out of a family of pharmacists who truly believe that food is medicine. It reflects their history and commitment, and that is something special that I believe we should encourage in restaurants/cafes that are not following the chain-route. They will go out of their way to bring you the best and healthiest ingredients in the country. And of course they don't offer the exact same products every single day...if you're looking for that then you might want to bring Jamba Juice back to life. Fresh & healthy means they use what is available and in season.
I wish I could afford every meal from Doc Bakers, but am giving it a 4-star rating simply because most people won't be able to afford this...at least not more than once a month as a special treat. But, you DO get what you pay for, so give it a shot and do your body a favor every once in a while.
Oh, and I have not fact checked this, but have been told by the staff that Doc Bakers is only one of 8 places in the USA that is truly GMO-free and organic.
