We stayed in Exton to be outside of Philly.... when we arrived the AC was set low and the room smelled musty, but we thought if we turned the AC down, the smell would go away after it cooled the room down...it did not.,it was very damp in the room..very high humidity...the carpet felt damp when walked on barefoot.. the second day house keeping didn't leave enough towels or washcloths or bath mats..however the sweet lady at the front desk brought some down to our room.

although the hotel is a little dated looking,it was clean and everything functioned well. It was the perfect place for a mini-family reunion. Having a living room and kitchen was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. they went out of their way for every request. A shout-out to Bill, one of the hosts, for making a balloon hat for our 4 year old grandson at breakfast. It was the highlight of his stay.

As I sit here in my room reading some of the past with use I kind of wonder where these people had stayed. Our room was as usual amazing and clean. We had brought our dog and in advance of the Pet Policy. As I am disabled they waved part of the pet rooming area to allow me to have a handicapped room on first floor. Also they allowed us to check in at 1 o'clock since we got there early. Hardly realized others were staying if not for breakfast time. I had one problem, spoke with manger, it was fixed within 10 min.

The room was average. The normal expectation at Residence Inn is a light dinner and adult beverages. The dinner advertised hamburgers and mixed greens and started at 6:30 pm. When I arrived at 6:50 pm there was a sign pasted on the chafer that said due to unexpected demand they ran out of hamburgers and were offering a veggie burger. Two bites was all I could take. The mixed greens were just that, mixed greens and nothing else. In addition, there was no beer or wine offered.
When asking the front desk what the cost was for the toll road to King of Prussia, she informed me there was not a toll road. When I drove out a short time later, 1/4 mile or less from the front door was the entrance to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, a TOLL road.

Thank you so much for your feedback and for participating in the Mix event during your stay with us. We often offer both a vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options in both our breakfast and our Mix events. Unfortunately we currently do have have the ability to legally offer wine and spirits but we are excited to have Uno Chicago Restaurant and Bar in our parking lot to cater to this. We will certainly look into have printed directions available for our patrons to ensure we are providing correct information to travelers in the future!

We had seen the negative recent reviews and thought as we are marriott members that it couldnt be true, as we have stayed at only marriott properties for the last 6 years exclusively. Wife was a gold member moving toward platinum when we came off the road for an extended period of time. We are traveling again and have stayed over 20 nights since the first of this year already, so we thought we knew marriott and the reviews were just a bad experience that couldnt happen to us. WRONG
they were right on, staff is doing their job but someone needs to spend some time inspecting the property, and correcting the numerous defects that are obvious.
The staff was pleasant and very professional, however, its is evident that the property is dated and worn. We had rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite for graduation and mothers day weekend, had our daughter who was graduating with us as the dorm had closed 48 hours before graduation, and her room was satisfactory. At a base rate of 200 dollars a night for two nights. First thing I notice was the corner molding strip was off the entry door at the bottom, sat down on the bed and thought i fallen to the floor, bed was extremely soft, walked into the bath and there was damage to the drain in the tub that was poorly patched, wife wanted to iron clothes and the ironing board was basically unusable as the cover was badly worn. Should have complained then but didnt. We went to dinner and returned to an overly warm room as i had turned on the fireplace, gas operated with a separate timer and on/off switch, had set the timer for 10 minutes and it never went off, so the room was warm when we returned. Set the ac and it cooled off quickly. Went to wash up and the flourescent overhead light was buzzing loudly, bad starter, no way were we sleeping with that on so i turned it off. We finally hit the sack at 10pm. woke up at midnight and the room was hot again lower the temp. on the thermostat, and the ac responded cooling off the room. Woke up again at 2 am. and again room was hot. AC had stopped working, hit the thermostat and no response I had lowered the temp below 72 and the unit didnt respond. ok not going to complain at 2 am. so tried to go back to sleep, wife got up and slept on the couch in the living area or at least tried but she got zero sleep that night, because then the fun really started, without the ac one could hear every sound including the highway 100 noise level and there was no way of going back to sleep, and then somewhere there was a couple fighting, this went on for 2 hours. What a rotten night, but with graduation facing us we were up at 530 am. and out the door by 7. I had finally called and lodged a complaint at 4 am and told the front desk we would be back by 3pm . When we walked in the staff was waiting for us and offered to move us across the hall to another suite, which was satisfactory, and a 50% discount for the first night. This was nice and acceptable, so we moved. Second suite was in better shape and on the back side of the hotel so no road noise, however, the a.c. again stopped working on auto at 2am. so i set it to on and ran it all night to keep the unit cool. It was apparent from talking to the staff they are aware on the road noise complaints and they had heard this one before. Much better nights sleep the second night. The breakfast offered by the hotel is mediocre at best, and we have had better at other marriott units. The tv in both suites in the living area did not work on the lower channels below 15 for the two days we were there, meaning no abc, cbs, or nbc. mentioned this to the front desk staff but it was never fixedl On top of all this tried to arrange a late check out over the weekend and could not be sure till early the morning of check out that it was ok, talked to 4 different front office staff and all said i had to check the morning of check out, as they were booked. Walked up the morning of check out and the front desk member said no problem. Ok that was nice but no problem the morning of why couldnt that have been said in the previous 48 hrs? All in all with all the marriotts in the area including a fairfield directly across the street, there are superior marriotts available, chose this one because of the suite and we needed 2 baths, no other marriott had this type of unit available for the weekend, when we booked in March, next time we will stay elsewhere and request 2 adjoining rooms when we are in this area to accomplish the same accommodations.

Room Tip: request room on back side of property away from rt 100 to avoid traffic noise
