I was at the hotel for our fall convention and it was a wonderful experience as always.
I cannot say enough about the staff, they go above and beyond to accommodate us. We have had our convention at high end hotels and never been treated with the care we receive at the Red Lion. The hotel may be a little dated but it is clean and improvements are being made. I feel good people go a lot further then new carpet.

We stayed here only one night on our way cross country and found it very family friendly. Easy, quick booking and check in, spacious comfortable room and comfy beds & linens as well. Our children are 2 and 3 and there is a great indoor pool (outdoor pool was closed for the season) as well as a great playground on the property. The playground seemed relatively new, was clean and had lots to do. It’s next to a large grassy picnic area too so the kids ran around freely and safely. The breakfast buffet was good, basic and the kids are free as they’re under 5 which was a nice surprise. The manager Randy was very kind and helpful and offered to extend our check out until noon so our kids could run around the playground a bit longer (check out is listed as 11am).
Would definitely go back if we were traveling this route again. Very family friendly.

We went end of June 2017. Pretty empty. No one by the pool outside so pretty boring. There were tons of ants swarming you out there too. We couldn't leave our stuff on the ground.
The rooms were very outdated but clean. However the carpets in the hallways were so stained it was disgusting. It made the whole place seem dirty.
The breakfast buffet was good and the hotel manager was super friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your June 2017 experience with us. We are grateful for your feedback and apologize for the inconvenience of ants at the outdoor pool. Clearly, we did not clean the pool deck properly prior to your arrival - #regret. From time to time food particles and drink spills find their way on the deck. We must immediately identify it, and address it. I can assure you ants around the pool are not customary.

New hallway carpet is on the way - #smiles. We will be replacing carpets throughout the guest corridors in December. The design and color is refreshing and will make a tremendous improvement to the overall look and feel of our accommodations. In the interim, we will continue to deep clean the existing carpets as best as possible to avoid the perception of dirty, which is unacceptable.

I just returned from an 8 day stay in Harrisburg. The Red Lion has become a second home for my business trips. The hotel is centrally located to downtown Harrisburg with easy access to the highway system, restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean and comfortable with many updates. You can get a good night’s sleep. The staff is always friendly and attentive to guest needs. There is a decent restaurant on site and a bar (if you care for an adult beverage). A free business center makes it easy for last minute document printing. Catering is available for any size meeting that you hold onsite.

Sometimes I am able to bring my family along... between the hot tub, pools, playground, tennis court, game and exercise rooms there’s enough to keep everyone occupied while Dad’s at work. Then it’s just a short drive to the Bass Pro or any number of area attractions.

I really can’t say enough about the staff. From Maintenace to Management... everyone has a smile and greeting when encountering guests. They remember your name and even room preferences and will accommodate any request. No one who travels extensively for work likes being away from home and family... so a little kindness and attention from your hotel hosts goes a long way at the end of a long day.

I could stay just about anywhere in Harrisburg; I always choose the Red Lion. I recommend that you do too.

Room Tip: The patio rooms give great access to the courtyard and all its amenities.

The people are wonderful !! The attention is amazing ,, the hotel could use some new rugs and some painting but over all the room was very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great ! I had a cesar salad that was amazing and the pool area was pretty nice as well !
