Enjoyed a two night stay at the Glen Alan, handy location and comfortable bedroom, the general interior of hotel although a little dated maintained a certain rustic charm. Bathroom was clean though small, the shower in particular left very little room to manoeuvre.
Best feature is the very warm welcome is provided by hosts Brenda and Paul, Brenda is very knowledgeable about the best places to eat and drink in the town.
Breakfast which Paul rustles up was very good, though I left somewhat disappointed at not being able to try the deliciously sounding 'Yorkshire Stack' despite ordering it for two consecutive mornings, firstly I was informed that the hosts had no ingredients and then on the second morning had not been to the supermarket despite my request the previous morning which put a dampener on things.
All in all though a nice place to stay, would visit again for sure and hopefully get to try that elusive Yorkshire stack next time : )

Sorry we could not offer the Yorkshire Stack, unfortunately circumstances prevented me from offering a full menu, I have sent you a personal message via tripadvisor.
With regards to the size of the room, we do have large deluxe rooms and also a Suite on the top floor which is the complete length of the guesthouse with its own lounge etc. I can only assume you opt for one of our budget doubles. I am pleased your experience will not deter you from returning. Kind Regards Brenda

Although we were only visiting one night to attend a concert - we really enjoyed our stay at The Glen Alan . The hosts Paul and Brenda were lovely and very helpful. Paul's breakfast was just fab. Our room on the top floor 'the suite' was perfect and lovely decorated - the bed soo comfy.
If we visit Brid again, we will stay at The Glen Alan
Thank you both

Room Tip: The suite is very roomy with an extra sitting room with TV

Three of us stayed at the Glen Alan for a second time having stayed last year. We had rooms 3 and 10, both clean and well equipped. We used the guest house as a base for trips out and about the East coast including Flamborough, Filey, Scarborough and this years city of culture Hull. The breakfast is amongst the best we have had anywhere everything good quality good portions and as much tea, coffee and toast as you need. Very good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the main road are quieter.

This is a very warm and welcoming establishment and the proprietors endeavour to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

A short and pleasurable visit to this little town we will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
