We visited the Ship Inn as a larger group, and had a really dreadful and confusing meal all round with little apologies from the staff. After a bit of confusion as the lady serving us seems to just have no idea what was going on we ordered drinks straight from the bar and paid for the pre-sitting at our table.
Firstly, the starters came out great, and everyone had high hopes for the food to follow, but what followed was a disaster. The filet steak was sliced into child like pieces, the monkfish curry was slopped on undercooked stodgy rice and was neither appealing or tasty. And a member of our team was only told once we all had our meals that they did not have what he had ordered.. 45mins after we had ordered. This however was not taken off of the bill and the landlady made a comment that luckily his second choice was the same price, how ridiculous!
Complaining seemed useless as the waitress was too busy looking confused and running around. I’d recommend going a little bit further to be assured of a better meal.

We stayed in Lerryn for a weeks holiday. I couldn’t recommend the ship inn enough. From the first night to the last the owners and the staff were super accommodating, they couldn’t do enough for you. It’s a warm and friendly atmosphere and everyone in the village welcomed us.
They had 2 new chefs start the week we arrived, and food was great. If your heading down that way, you must stop and get involved in the splendid atmosphere. We will defiantly going back.
Thank you Johnny and Ronnie

The staff could not have been more helpful in making my stay enjoyable and memorable. The place is full of character as are the locals (Why visit the Tower of London when most of the escaped inmates are here ???). I was made to feel welcome at all times and would highly recommend the place for anyone wanting to experience a traditional, friendly pub and inn.
I'll be back sometime, you have been warned.

Went out as a group of four for a get together over a meal!
The get together was great, which was good, because the food was not!
What the place lacked in atmosphere was made up with by noise from the locals.
Also, wear your thermals, not only is the food Luke warm, but the temperature is also!

Hello reviewer, I can only apologise, but it would have good if you had mentioned some of these issues at the time and we could have so easily resolved them.

We came here for drinks and the atmosphere was brilliant fr m staff and locals alike. We were then told about an annual race ‘the seagull race’ which is a boat race great atmosphere again and stopped later for more drinks and again very welcome fun atmosphere.
We haven’t stayed the night yet but will definitely try it in 2018
