MY wife and I recently made our first visit to Himalayan Spice and were not dissapointed! My wife's Chicken Madras was just the right heat and flavourful with large chicken pieces. I ordered a Lamb Vindaloo which was rich, hot and thoroughly delicious. These were acoompanied by some great Pilau Rice and a Tarka Dall which had a wonderful almost smoky flavour from the addition of herbs and spices. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and next time will book a table and eat in-house. Thoroughly recommended.

Great range of dishes from the Traditional to the Chefs on Specials. Every dish was impeccably presented and everything tasted as good as it looked. Such a rare find amongst Indian Restaurants - absolutely SUPERB ! And the Naan Breads - well, I didn't realise they could taste SO good. We'll definitely be back whenever we re-vist the South West.

We placed an order three hours in advance to collect at 18:45. When I arrived at 18:45 there was only one other customer also waiting for a collection. Despite this I had to wait over 20 minutes for the order to be prepared. What’s the use in offering online ordering if one still has to wait 20 minutes for the food to be prepared upon arrival...?
Having read the many positive reviews we were looking forward to hopefully having at last found a decent Indian/Nepalese restaurant/takeaway in the Liskeard/Looe area. Having eventually got the food home we were quickly disappointed.
The appetisers, onion bahji and chicken pakoras were ok. The Chicken Chum Chum was dry and tough. The papadums were good as were the pickles.
The main courses we ordered which were mostly vegetarian were either very bland lacking in heat and spice. The chana masala was very dry, the dal dish far too runny and both lacking flavour, as was the spinach with vegetables - all extremely bland. The cauliflower dish was SO SWEET we couldn’t eat it, sweeter than a dessert and we threw it away. This seems to be a major problem with all the Indian style restaurants in this area: they all use FAR TOO MUCH SUGAR in the majority of their dishes. Even the plain naan bread and the coconut rice were both far too sweet.
The chapati was like cardboard. The lamb curry was also sweet but not as bad, nevertheless like the other dishes it was also bland.
Overall very disappointing and we would not order/visit here again. Such a shame as the misleading positive reviews had us hoping the area finally had a good Indian restaurant. One can only wonder where these other reviewers have eaten previously and what they are therefore using as a measuring stick.
To sum up: bland food, lacking in flavour, spice/heat, and MASSIVELY over sweetened. Too long waiting time. Not worth the money, we spent over £60, and will not be visiting again.

Had visitors down from London for a few days, we all went to Himalaya Spice for a meal and we all admitted it was the best meal we have had in years.
The staff are friendly and amusing and very attentive. Two of us had the Chicken Nepal and it was so creamy and mild but so full of flavour, others had the Salmon and the Sea Bass that was substituted for Salmon as the Bass wasn't available and they also said it was fantastic.
This is definitely a restaurant that we will use again on special occasions and when we have visitors, I think you will be surprised by the quality of the food for a small town in Cornwall.
